There has been no shortage of transfers in college sports this year and @PackSoftball has seen its fair share both join and leave the program. @bryanpyrtle breaks down all the Pack's transfers.

Take a look at their schedule. The amount of games that they play either in Raleigh or a short bus ride away is crazy. Their schedule has to be a strength this year.

NC State kept its fans on the edge of their seats all day as the softball team earned a hard-fought 6-4 victory over Florida A&M before outlasting North Florida, 6-5 in nine innings on Saturday evening at the UNF Softball Complex.

The Wolfpack (4-0) showed a lot of grit as the team was down to its final at-bats in both games but was able to pull off two nail-biting victories to remain undefeated at the River City Leadoff. With the win over host North Florida (3-1) head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift earned her 400th career victory

FLORIDA A&M RECAP
NC State saw a 2-0 lead turn into a 4-2 deficit in the third as the Lady Rattlers (1-3) scored a run on a hit-by-pitch followed by a sacrifice fly. Florida A&M added its final two runs in the inning off a throwing error. Carson Shaner responded with a solo shot to left field, her second home run of the season, to bring the Pack within one.

In the sixth, Brittany Jackson stole third and was able to advance home off a throwing error by the catcher to knot the game at four. In the bottom of the seventh, Randi Farricker led off the inning with a double before Taylor Johnson hit the walk-off two-run homer to left field to give NC State the 6-4 win.

Kaylee Lambrecht led the offensive charge with two hits, a run scored, a walk and three stolen bases while Johnson added a 2-for-3 night at the plate with a run scored and a stolen base. Aisha Weixlmann came in to get a single out in the seventh which allowed her to earn her second win of the season (2-0).

NORTH FLORIDA RECAP
NC State took an early 1-0 lead in the first as Shaner drove home Lambrecht with an RBI single to left center field. The Ospreys answered in their half of the inning, taking a 2-1 lead. North Florida tacked on a run in the fifth and sixth innings to hold a 4-1 lead going into what seemed to be the final frame of the game.

With two outs, Alaina Smith hit a single that started a rally for the Wolfpack. Lambrecht followed behind with a single before Jackson ran out an infield single to shortstop. With the bases loaded, Logan Morris stepped up to the plate and on the first pitch she hit a double down the left field line that cleared the bases to tie the game at 4.

Weixlmann handled business in the bottom half of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. In the ninth with the intentional runner on second, Lambrecht hit a double down the left field line that brought home Libby Whittaker. Once again, Morris delivered in the clutch as she drove in an insurance run with an RBI single to give the Pack a 6-4 lead.

North Florida added a run in the bottom of the inning but Weixlmann forced a ground out and a pop out to end any hopes for the Ospreys and allow the Wolfpack to win, 6-5.

Morris had a great day at the plate going 2-for-4 with four RBI while Lambrecht followed behind with a 2-for-5 performance, her third multi-hit game this season, alongside three runs scored and an RBI. Weixlmann earned her third win of the season (3-0) as she tossed 3.2 innings, striking out two batters and only allowing two hits.

NC State dropped a tough 1-0 loss to Western Carolina in non-conference softball action inside of UNF Softball Complex in both teams' River City Leadoff finale.

The Wolfpack (4-1) struggled to find some offensive rhythm and two errors in the first inning deemed to be the deciding factor to allow the Catamounts (4-1) to earn the shutout win.

Aisha Weixlmann received the tough loss to move to 3-1 on the season. She tossed six innings, only allowing two hits while striking out seven but the unearned run was the difference.

Taylor Johnson tallied the Wolfpack's sole hit in the seventh inning but the Pack was unable to pull off a late-game comeback.

NC State softball began its home schedule with two victories as the Wolfpack defeated Lehigh, 3-0 before taking down Fairfield in walk-off fashion, 5-2 on Friday at Dail Softball Stadium in the Wolfpack Classic.

The Wolfpack's (6-1) offense started slowly in both games but the team was able to muster up a couple of key hits late in each game to finish day one of the Wolfpack Classic undefeated.

LEHIGH RECAP
NC State only needed one inning to earn its 13th home-opening win in program history as the Pack earned its second shutout of the season.

In the fifth inning Sam Sack, Randi Farricker and Brittany Jackson all hit two-out singles to load the bases for Kaylee Lambrecht. Lambrecht recorded her second double of the season that cleared the bases to put the Pack up 3-0.

Sam Gress earned the win in the circle, her second of the season (2-0) after tossing 6.2 scoreless innings and striking out three batters. Maddie McPherson came in to relieve Gress and earned her second save of the season after getting the final batter out with runners on first and second.

Lambrecht recorded her third two-hit game of the season with a career-high three RBI while Sack added a two-hit performance to lead NC State at the plate.

FAIRFIELD RECAP
The Wolfpack fought back in the final two frames to earn its second walk-off win, taking down Fairfield, 5-2.

Fairfield was able to take an early 2-0 lead off a RBI-single in the third and a solo home run in the fourth. The Stags homer was the first homer hit against NC State this season. NC State responded in the fourth as Randi Farricker hit a RBI-double to right center field to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

Farricker saved the day once again as she tallied her first homer this season to knot the game at two in the bottom of the sixth. In the seventh, Jackson led the inning with a double before Logan Morris drew a walk.

Carson Shaner stepped up to the plate with one out and hit a three-run walk-off home run to centerfield to give NC State the 5-2 win. Maddie McPherson earned her first win of the season in the circle as she tossed 4.0 scoreless innings with a career-high eight strikeouts.

At the plate, Morris and Farricker racked up two hits apiece with Farricker adding two RBI to her stat line.
