As to the rest of your post, try to get ahold of yourself.
He can't. He's never going to agree with me, and I'm never going to agree with him - and at some point, one starts to think "why even bother"?
Sure. I'm going to throw a well timed pot shot his direction here and there (when he especially deserves it, which happens with greater frequency as time goes by)... he's going to try to ignore me at first (if he can), but I'm eventually going to strike enough of a nerve... and then that's when he's going to go all "William Jennings Bryan" on me - and throw down one of his patented essays again...
Trump needs to complete whatever it is over in / with Iran that hasn't gotten completed yet, get these gas prices back to where his policies got them to during the second half of his first term - and start lightening up on a lot of the pettiness. Yeah, I know why he does it (and if I went through what he had to go through, I'd probably do the exact same thing)... but at some point you have to start - at least -
trying to bring more of the center of both parties back together. Everything can't always be 100% us against them. There are tons of good people on both sides of the aisle... but even this message board is a good example of why that doesn't happen anymore.
I realize that the Civ's and Smarpty's of this world are continually whipping themselves up into a frenzy of "Trump said this", "Trump said that"... and of course "something, something Trump"... and while Civ tries his absolute best to spin things in his mind to match what he would really like to be reality? The truth is...
Until the "Democratic Party" (did I type that correctly for you here, Smarpt?!?) starts to definitively at least
feign a move back towards center... it doesn't matter what Trump says, doesn't say, thinks, doesn't think, posts, doesn't post - they're totally screwed.
Dems should be focusing on pulling votes from the right - not feeling that they
absolutely have to stay aligned with (even when they don't agree with their stances) a growing group of anti-Americans (normal people can see the makeup of these groups), just to be competitive in elections.
Their "Coalition of Misfits" (they have their ever shrinking group of truly "normal" people that have to hold their nose about everything else within the Democratic Party umbrella) - and then every other absolute fringe - or in most cases, nutjob - faction of every other non-normal group within American society just to get votes.
Can't wait to ignore the upcoming response(s).
Let's see how the polls match the actual results this time around. I haven't given up on this country yet... I just have to make it until I die... my kids and grandkids? I hope that there is something worthwhile for them to feel is still worth fighting for and defending at that point (it's been 250 years now)... but they are going to have to take that up on their own at some point. People my age won't be here anymore to do the heavy lifting...
