If you don't think criticisms regarding Trump's blatant dishonesty to the American people are relevant to his Presidency, you're way off base, Cary.

If the owner of Stitch comported himself the way that Trump does and constantly lied to you, your colleagues, and your clients/customers about things that you or anyone else could readily see were simply not true, would that not impair your trust in him, and significantly impair his ability to effectively lead your company?

No matter how much you disagreed with any past President, there is no corollary for what this Administration is doing from a dishonesty, corruption, and personal enrichment standpoint, and it's not even remotely close.

Listen to Vance's smarmy little speech.

Are we "getting rich" from tariffs? Clearly no.

I actually agree with both you and Cary on the $5K, but he may be trolling your side.

Tariffs are being used as a foreign policy weapon and to create conditions to grow the private enterprise workforce ...........For now, private job creation is countering the federal govt workforce drawdown to its lowest (%wise) in nearly a century.

This smells about right......the war is being won right before your eyes..........and #dave hasn't seen a tank yet. Of course, we've had some shooting in Venezuela and Iran.......but not a ground invasion per se. We will have some more kinetic activity soon however, I think possibly, in the streets of our major cities.

There are a bunch of reasons not to do it.

Retrospectives on Covid economic impacts seem to think stimulus checks probably only drove 10% or 15% of that inflation, but it's still one reason to not do it for sure.

The biggest reason not to do it is unlike during Covid, there's no apparent need to do it since we are not in a global pandemic that shocked our economy and temporarily spiked unemployment. Those stimulus checks were trying to head off concerns of a second Great Recession, where economists widely believe the federal government was too slow to react.

That, and the alleged pot of gold that would fund it is about as real as the leprechaun on a box of Lucky Charms.
