FWIW - YMMV - Patton understood that the Bolsheviks who ended Russian Czar Nicholas's reign at the end of WWI in 1917 were funded and organized by American and British money interests - the Bolsheviks later morphed into the Soviet state under Stalin - all a "deep state" construct of that time.

The American part of that doesn't altogether compute since Wilson, generally aligned with those money interests, sent American troops to Russia for several objectives, non of them pro-Bolshevik.

We spent one-fifth of a Trump ballroom in Ukraine, and didn't have to fire a shot to smack Putin down. He'd have already lost if Trump hadn't rescued him.

What does that have to do with Trump bumbling into the stupidest war in American history? "Derp, I broke the world economy (not my problem!) and am losing a war to a country I bombed to dust (except for most of their still intact nuclear program)! Sure, I somehow made Iran more powerful now that the more radical leaders left alive took control of (permanently?) the world oil supply, but I hold all the cards!!! DURP!"
