FWIW - YMMV - Patton understood that the Bolsheviks who ended Russian Czar Nicholas's reign at the end of WWI in 1917 were funded and organized by American and British money interests - the Bolsheviks later morphed into the Soviet state under Stalin - all a "deep state" construct of that time.

The American part of that doesn't altogether compute since Wilson, generally aligned with those money interests, sent American troops to Russia for several objectives, non of them pro-Bolshevik.
