no, I just don't understand why this is a great deal. I think it's perfectly ok to ask that question. The US now has a vested interest in the sovereignty of Ukraine, yet won't do anything about that. So how do you get minerals from this deal worth the amount that the US has funded Ukraine?
Lol we weren't getting **** back prior to now and we didn't hear a peep about it. Now it's we're not getting enough back.

I'd love to get every cent back but some is better than what we were getting from the previous administration. I don't get it.

I understand there are several locations prepped for new visitors, not just #GITMO. Guessing some of #Sieve's and Gobbler's heroes end up at several of these locations.

Very well-handled by Macron.
Not surprising. I think whomever is advising Trump does not understand all the aspects the war and I also think Trump does not really care either.

Do I think Trump is a Russian stooge? No. But his admiration for strongmen isn't exactly a powerful negotiating position.
Hokie, honestly… do you know all aspects of war?

If not, should you really be saying such?
im not the President of the United States, but I'd get my facts straight before bloviating in front of the press.

Ukraine started the war
Zelensky is a dictator
Europe is loaning the money to Ukraine
Refusing to call Putin a dictator.

I feel confident that all of these statements are incorrect. Feel free to disagree I suppose.
So, based on those things, you think you have a better grasps of War compared to Trump?
ok, he does know more, why lie though?
Ukraine comment, I truly haven't heard that one. Now, I think their persistence trying to get into NATO could have caused some of the aggression.. that said, I think Putin wanted some of the land for multiple reasons.

Zelensky is a dictator

I don't know what the true relationship of the money Europe is putting in

Why call Putin a dictator when you need him to stop this war.

There is a blind spot with MAGA with respect to Putin like there's a blind spot in the far left with respect to Gaza

Call it appeasing…. I say, Putin has a nuclear power arsenal, and we need something from him, so, why say it? Everyone knows what he is, right? Putin is a bad guy! Currently, I think we need something, so get it and move on.

Now, when this is over, Europe needs to own this mess, as far as I'm concerned.

I think that's a fundamental difference between me and you and others. I don't put a price tag on someone's freedom, I gladly will help them stay free.

You can call Zelenskyy whatever you want, but we are extorting and sacrificing Ukraine's freedom from Putin, an actual dictator, and the only reason I see why is because Trump has held a grudge because Zelenskyy wouldn't help him with Biden in 2020.

You may think Ukraine is a poor representation of a democracy, but it's better than being Russia.

You're putting words in my mouth. Nowhere have I ever said Ukraine was a poor representation of democracy or called Zelensky anything, others may have but I haven't. My response was to you questioning if we were getting enough back from what we've given them.

Of course Putin is a horrible guy, most of us have gladly admitted that. Unfortunately you've got to try and negotiate with him to put an end to the senseless slaughter. The deal has to make sense and be good for both sides though and I hope we don't accept a horrible deal just to get one. We shall see.

Leaving aside how morally bankrupt it is to think that extorting an invaded country in ruins is somehow that Art of the Deal...

I wonder if these buffoons have ever thought through how their standard of living might be dramatically affected by dissolving the post-WW2 order with us at the center (a.k.a. Putin's wet dream)? Or how a semi-hostile and re-militarized Europe might not be great for us.

If Europeans don't like how this is going down, they shouldn't have refused NATO membership to Ukraine a decade ago. They shouldn't have tried to fight the war on the cheap using Ukraine as proxies and they should have put forces into Ukraine immediately upon the Russian retreat from Kiev.

hokie thinks it's perfectly ok to ask the question why it's a good deal but doesn't think it's perfectly ok to ask him why he was fine with nothing being paid back. hokie is no different than civ as it pertains to Trump. Civ just has the integrity to not pretend that he's not mentally ill.

I truly lol at the typing out of "I think it's perfectly ok to ask that question". The guy has zero integrity at this point.
