Hokie, all I think, is that he is saying something. It may be true, it may not…. At some point, the receipts have to come out.

Now, do I have tendency to believe this? Yes! That said, the receipts have to come…
he is representing a government agency, he should always tell the truth after a thorough understanding of what he's actually looking at. All he's doing is creating mistrust of institutions. Which, I know most here are all for. Norms and discourse have already been jettisoned.

The good news/bad news is at the end of the day, the overstepping gets corrected by the American public.

I think Tom Hohman knows a little more about this than you. You can't investigate whether it's water or bourbon in a clear glass.

To be fair though, he just asked them to open an investigation due to her webinar on how to evade ICE. He feels she is breaking the law, but directed professionals to make that decision.

After your support of Europe stifling free speech last week, it doesn't surprise me in the least that you support this as well.

Whatever it takes, right? RESIST!!

lol.

It's obvious Tom Hohman is grandstanding and is full of *****

By this logic, Mirandizing someone is illegal because it's telling someone how to avoid successful prosecution.

It's a patently stupid argument on its face and you don't need to be Tom Hohman to understand this.

If you disagree, bet me $100 AOC doesn't get charged with a crime. Loser makes the donation to 1Pack.

This is a weird little corner of ISP I have never visited before. Not sure I am coming back. Guerrillapack talking about the satanic marxist establishment ruining the world? Yikes. Take a few deep breaths dude, and then please, please try to expose yourself to a little bit more diverse set of news sources. It is obvious you are deep in a bubble. Many are these days....try to find a little humility which is sorely lacking in today's political discourse, and make the effort to seek out alternate opinions and not just gobble up endless stories about how the other side, which is your fellow Americans by the way, are evil. That goes for both sides of the aisle here, as the bubble issue hits both ways. Look for nuance, don't engage in black and white all or none thinking, and don't assume the characterizations of the other team presented in your favorite media source whatever it is matches their full reality. OK....back to the sports stuff and hoping, probably unrealistically, that somehow we can beat UNC this week and play the role of spoiler! After all we all are pack fans on this site, so at least we have some common ground to build on

You're talking to the exact people who regularly send their entire paycheck to an African prince. They have no idea what you're talking about.

Why don't you just donate $100 to 1Pack? What does this subject have to do with that at all?

Post the receipt on this board when you do it. Nobody wants to hear about sports board ******bags that threaten to make a bet to 1Pack and then never do. So embarrassing.

Oh, and I disagree. It's a patently stupid argument to think you know dick about the topic based on your posting history. It's not like mirandizing them. Is that what your propagandists are telling you? Lord knows, we know you can't think for yourself.

Tell me smart guy who always has these standards for conservatives that you don't have for yourself or dem leaders. Are you still foolishly saying Hegseth was drinking bourbon? You still siding with Germany and Europe on stifling free speech? You should give an extra $100 each to 1Pack for those stupid takes too.

Hokie, at the end of the day, the people have a mistrust of government and a lot of other institutions. The reason is that receipts have been provided and mistrust has set in.

So, I'll say it again, DOGE needs to provide receipts; however, based on my tendencies, I'm going to lean more to believing than not. As I said before, receipts need to be provided.

Now, the receipts about USAID were just that receipts. Did you have a tendency regarding them?

I've actually resigned the fact that inflation isn't quickly fixable. As opposed to others, I didn't 5hink getting out this mess was an easy task.

We have to start with energy, then, other things will slowly be affected… now, the long poll in the tent is the money supply and tightening that needs to happen. Honestly, I have no idea how they will do that…

Hokie, this country is spending tons of money building chip manufacturing plants. The only reason that's happening is the recognition of the security threat we have, especially with China threatening Taiwan. So, how did we get to Taiwan being the major player in Chip manufacturing? As will everything else, globalist decided it was the right thing to do…

no, Texas Instruments decided calculators were the wave of the future and let Morris Chang go, then he created TSMC and their foundry process.

He bet on himself because he had zero stake in the company originally, it was 50% owned by the Taiwanese govt and the other 50% by other Taiwanese businesses. He then took his meager $150k salary, bought shares in the company and turned into a billionaire.

So no, globalist had zero to do with it. Morris Chang had 100% to do with it because he invented a new way of doing things.

We used to admire stuff like that, but now for some reason it's not anymore.

The CHIPS act invested heavily in Intel, Trump is now going to double down on that idiocy.

TSMC will never bring the newest technology to the US. Everyone thinks it's great they're brining 5nm production potentially to Arizona, but they've already gone to 3nm production in Taiwan.

Tariffs aren't going to fix that either.

#Gobbler my post reply on the Taiwan thread more than answered how Taiwan stole our technology in the 70s and 80s.

Let's see now, can we learn how many years these multi-billion dollar payouts have been made, and to whom!!

It can be, but not in a way that most people would want. Sudden crashes in the value of bonds, equities and general property would wrench a lot of liquidity out of the system in a hurry. It's deflation that's damned hard to fix, once it gets under way. And as much as we all hate high prices, there are several powerful forces driving a potential deflation wave and the pain that comes with it….automative technology, negative demographics, and a widespread loss of purchasing power to name a few.

There are maybe hundreds of deceased people receiving fraudulent benefits, not tens of millions.

There are about 70 million people TOTAL receiving Social Security so around 1/3 of them are dead?

Simple math and statistics makes these numbers unrealistic
hokiewolf
How long do you want to ignore this user?
From 2016:

"A 2015 report did find 6.5 million active Social Security numbers for people over the age of 112 but only 13 of them were being used to receive benefits. A much bigger fraudulent use of the remaining numbers is to contribute payroll taxes into the system, not to collect benefits from it, a situation that applied to almost 67,000 of the numbers.

This data suggests the group Mr. Trump is referencing is between 13 and 1,500 recipients in size and is therefore costing the system between $200,000 and $15 million annually. To put that in context, total benefits this year will exceed $900 billion, meaning that stopping all of these payments would reduce program costs by between 0.00002 and 0.002 percent.

Even if SSA could somehow eliminate all improper payments, estimated by SSA at about $5 billion per year (which is likely impossible1), it would only reduce costs by at most 0.6 percent. This would extend the program's solvency by about 4 months."

https://www.crfb.org/blogs/would-reducing-fraud-make-social-security-solvent

I would be more than happy to read any article that shows the fraud rate to be what is being claimed, but I'm 100% sure you can't find anyone who's actually done any analysis to have written such an article.

What's the shelf life for magic beans? 10 years?
caryking
How long do you want to ignore this user?
All the more reason to fix the system. In 2015, they found the fraud, yet, they never fixed the issue??

Sounds like real incompetence to me…
