As a long time ticket holder, love seeing this. ( the crowd on the other hand) maybe not as much.

Are you old enough to remember when they raced at the old Richmond Cty Fairgrounds?
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

No sir. I wish I had seen some racing there though.

Something to watch. Also, Legacy and Hass maybe joining together, although it could be a buyout of Hass.

It was interesting to say the least. Great racing mind you.

Why do these cars seem to be going so slow. I know there have been discussions about ARCA and xfinity having more speed that the Cup cars.

I've read something interesting last night from a very good reporter, Dover may lose its only date, and get the All Star race. Dover's current date will likely go to North Wilksboro Speedway. Apparently folks are having serious discussions about this. Not sure how I feel about this?

While sitting and watching today I thought the same. Until I walked down and up close the cars were moving. But I get what you are saying.

I'd be against that just based on the quality of the racing...

@RichmondRaceway is expected to announce a sellout for tomorrow night's NASCAR Cup Series race, per people familiar, in what would be the first sellout at the venue since 2008.

The track did have a larger capacity back in 2008.

Outside of the fact that it's NWS, I agree. The racing would be suspect. Plus, not sure how the Dover fans would react. They have done a great job of showing up here of late, and for SMI to pull the points race could potentially kill that track. One other thing, Dover doesn't have lights, so you would be looking at a day race.

Ditch Dover! I don't like the racing there. That said, I would have all the tracks be in the southeast…so… I'm not the right person to listen too…

Racing at NWS in this car had been bad. And this is coming from someone who usually has a positive outlook on the sport. NWS had carved out a good thing, Cars Tour, trucks, and finally the All Star race. Getting Nashville Fairgrounds a race, was more than likely the reason for buying Dover and Nashville, since that doesn't seem possible at the moment, SMI is taking a date from a different market and moving it to a track that after the " newness " goes away, folks will be calling for a change. I personally don't think this is a good idea. JMO

I'm the same. Bring back Rockingham, North Wilkesboro, Stick with road courses at Watkins Glen and Sonoma. All star race back to Charlotte, July 4th back to Daytona, Clash back also. But I'm an old school traditionalist.

This is my only reason, otherwise I'd be totally fine with it.

I like that idea of an All-Star race rotation of NWS, Rockingham and Charlotte, whoever it was that posted that idea here before... I want to say it was Glass, but I don't remember honestly.

I don't mind a rotation per say.

Just flipped on the TV and they were showing the track and stands. Have they done some major expansion?

My boy is in the booth again tonight. This makes for the perfect Saturday night race…

BTW, I flipped on an old F1 race and lo and behold… there was my boy Diffey calling the race!!

Yes he did. Not surprising considering that he just about dominated last year's race and how he ran at Iowa. Hats off to the 3 team.

Years ago they re did the infield and garage area. I will say, Lori had done a really good job of a much needed facelift.

I would love to see RCR to be at the top again. RC is a class act, as far as I'm concerned…
