Why did the Minority Leader and other Republicans express dismay that Trump torpedoed it?

Obviously it would have improved the situation, that's precisely why Trump wanted to kill it. If it was a feckless waste of a bill Trump would have been better off letting it run its course so he could then run on how bad the bill was and how the Dems were completely unable to fix the problem.

Fine, then say he moved too slowly. That's a fair criticism.

Saying he "did nothing" is patently false when he spearheaded a bipartisan bill that improved the situation and got the bill to the cusp of being approved until it got railroaded by Trump for his own personal gain, and the rest of the party happily fell in line.

Remember, border crossings were spiking exponentially under Trump pre-COVID and there were no coherent plans to improve the situation in place at the time he left office. COVID, not effective policy or legislation, saved his immigration-issue bacon.

Civ, if you can't get a bill passed, then ultimately, you did nothing.

Trump tried to get a bill passed to build a wall. He didn't get support, including many Pubs. Then, he did what he could, based on certain funding he had, and built part of the wall.

Trump figured out a way to get something done! It appears as if Biden isn't smart enough to figure it out. For that matter, neither is Kamala! She is a hack, 100%

As said before, he did nothing…. He got nothing accomplished. Trump, on the other hand, got part of his border wall completed, in spite of lacking support for it. Your boy just complained, along with you, and blamed others. BTW, Trump gave your boy the roadmap to get the border cleaned up. It appears he's too partisan to accept the help! The same help, Trump has been providing for a long time. It's time to "shut up" and do something.

The bill was NOT supported by enough Pubs, before this so-called Trump stoppage happened. It was a bad bill that only the elites wanted passed.

The real question is:

Do you really want to stop the flow of illegal immigrants (aliens)? I do!

Don't give me this BS about asylum seekers. I believe our asylum laws say one must seek it to the closest country to their origin. We all know that the majority of these people are not Mexican anymore; therefore, they need to seek asylum somewhere else. Now, I do think this whole asylum crap is BS anyway.
