Oh, I agree. I really try to keep an open mind, but it has become apparent the doctrine as well as the tactics of the Dems is a movement that if successful will dramatically change the fabric and future of this country that will all but have wiped out what the Founding Fathers tried to establish. I'll be the first to admit that Pubs have flaws that should be noted, but the leadership of the Dems obviously has a socialist state on their radar and many Americans are blind to it. I hope they see before it is too late!

What legislation did Biden spearhead that you'd consider socialist and/or harmful to the fabric of the country?

I don't know….maybe letting 10 million illegals into the country and not doing anything about it?

"Not doing anything about it" is LOLOLOL.

Are you completely forgetting the bipartisan border bill the Biden admin spearheaded that Trump told his acolytes to torpedo for the sole purpose of trying to help him win an election?

But no problem with Trump stopping a bi-partisan border bill because it would hurt him politically? Oh...right....the GOP only uses the border as a wedge issue and doesn't actually give a #### about it.

Why did it take 3.5 years and an up coming election to get a bill?

Looks like you and grant got the same email talking point.

I'll ask you the same question. Why did it take 3.5 years, 10 million illegals and an up coming election to get a bill? Couldn't Mr. Biden simply sign an executive order to close the border?

Blame Mr. Trump if you want but the buck stops with the people you voted for.

Fine, then say he moved too slowly. That's a fair criticism.

Saying he "did nothing" is patently false when he spearheaded a bipartisan bill that improved the situation and got the bill to the cusp of being approved until it got railroaded by Trump for his own personal gain, and the rest of the party happily fell in line.

Remember, border crossings were spiking exponentially under Trump pre-COVID and there were no coherent plans to improve the situation in place at the time he left office. COVID, not effective policy or legislation, saved his immigration-issue bacon.

Not to mention that bill was worthless.

This is revisionist, perfect-is-the-enemy-of-the-good bull*****

Why were Congressional Republicans ready to approve it?

Why did the Minority Leader and other Republicans express dismay that Trump torpedoed it?

Obviously it would have improved the situation, that's precisely why Trump wanted to kill it. If it was a feckless waste of a bill Trump would have been better off letting it run its course so he could then run on how bad the bill was and how the Dems were completely unable to fix the problem.

Remember when Obama was President? Everything was the fault of Bush. With Biden/Harris, everything is the fault of Trump.

I think I'm seeing a pattern here? Democrats can't talk about their guy they only talk about the other guy.

Couldn't Mr. Biden sign an executive order?

He did exactly that after Trump's worshippers in Congress killed the bill.

You guys don't like Biden circumventing Congress with EO's, until you do.

Why should Biden have to take executive action to bar migrants from crossing the border illegally from receiving asylum when Congress was teed up to pass even broader legislation?

No president has fixed the border in decades. It's too complicated and takes smart legislation. But Trump unwinding border policies that have previously been helpful, and would have continued to be so, and then killing a border bill so he could run on the issue, and then Pubs crying about the left not fixing the issue, is rich.

Like so many pieces of legislation in DC (looking at you, Inflation Reduction Act) the bill title sounds good until you look into the contents of the legislation. I wonder if our detracting friends here actually looked at the details?

Ahhh, are we back on "Dems want illegals in the country so they'll vote for them" Mensa-level analysis?

Yes, I'm sure Dems are letting in a bunch of illegals intentionally, even though illegals can't vote and if/when they do get naturalized and vote they don't vote Dem as a block, is definitely front-of-mind for Biden and the other rad-libs in Washington.

Super cogent strategy that clearly has a high likelihood of success. Definitely what's happening. You nailed it.

Civ, if you can't get a bill passed, then ultimately, you did nothing.

Trump tried to get a bill passed to build a wall. He didn't get support, including many Pubs. Then, he did what he could, based on certain funding he had, and built part of the wall.

Trump figured out a way to get something done! It appears as if Biden isn't smart enough to figure it out. For that matter, neither is Kamala! She is a hack, 100%

Civ, I think it's clear that people have different views of different people. Why do we continue fighting about that?

I support the candidate, voted on by the people. The electors nominated the candidate, according to the people's votes! I think, if anything, you should rectify that, with your candidate. You can't; however, I'm confident you will justify it…

Presidents don't pass bills man. You know this. They can only try to garner enough support to pass it.

Sorry, even Pubs acknowledged the border bill was approvable with bipartisan support and then Trump swooped in.

Trump deciding to torpedo a bill that was going to be approved becuase he wanted to campaign on the issue is not Biden's problem.

You can say Biden acted too slow, but you can't blame him for Trump's selfishness.

Looks like you and grant got the same email talking point.

I'll ask you the same question. Why did it take 3.5 years, 10 million illegals and an up coming election to get a bill? Couldn't Mr. Biden simply sign an executive order to close the border?

Blame Mr. Trump if you want but the buck stops with the people you voted for.

That's not revisionist it's the exact same thing I said back then because it was horrible. If you can find it (cause I have no idea how) look for my posts about it.

I believe you think it was horrible but that opinion was not shared by many Congressional Republicans or most arms-length, bipartisan folks that study immigration (CATO, Brennan, others).
Yes, the Uniparty. The rest of us thought it was pure betrayal.

One man's betrayal is another's practical bipartisanship.

Related aside, I think the Common Sense Party would instantly become the most popular party in the country if it could get a running start.

Let's try and rationalize these two statements:

Saying he "did nothing" is patently false when he spearheaded a bipartisan bill

Presidents don't pass bills man. You know this. They can only try to garner enough support to pass it.

As said before, he did nothing…. He got nothing accomplished. Trump, on the other hand, got part of his border wall completed, in spite of lacking support for it. Your boy just complained, along with you, and blamed others. BTW, Trump gave your boy the roadmap to get the border cleaned up. It appears he's too partisan to accept the help! The same help, Trump has been providing for a long time. It's time to "shut up" and do something.

We know that want happen, because like all liberals, you want to complain and blame someone else…

That is what's wrong with this country and too damn many people are just like you!!

ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY!!!

The bill was NOT supported by enough Pubs, before this so-called Trump stoppage happened. It was a bad bill that only the elites wanted passed.

The real question is:

Do you really want to stop the flow of illegal immigrants (aliens)? I do!

Don't give me this BS about asylum seekers. I believe our asylum laws say one must seek it to the closest country to their origin. We all know that the majority of these people are not Mexican anymore; therefore, they need to seek asylum somewhere else. Now, I do think this whole asylum crap is BS anyway.

Fellas, that's a helluva lot of black Suburbans and other support service vehicles. Almost too many to count.
