Oh boy, yeah...

Wished we could see exactly where the tees were positioned last year superimposed on top of that picture, plus an extended view showing the rest of the first 2/3 of the hole. This potentially might start taking the pine straw to the right more out of play - and potentially making it more difficult to overcook a draw into the creek or where you are blocked by the canopy, but it's impossible to tell with just that limited view of the aerial here.

But anything that makes them hit 2 clubs longer to go for the green makes things more exciting nonetheless.

Edited to add: After looking at some previous aerials, it appears the extension is ~ 25-28 yards and oriented at the exact same angle. Should be interesting to see it live and what other kinds of effect it has other than just the distance aspect of it. The trees that were moved have been replanted in the are behind the new tee box.

Hard not to pick Scottie to win, he's playing even better this year then when he won the Masters last year.

A top player flying kind of under the radar this week that I like to win is Morikawa. 2x Major champion and has gotten better at Augusta each time he's seen the place.

Hard to pick against him. Clearly Rahm and Rory make the list, though Rahm has cooled off
Two other guys - Max Homa has been competitive every week out, and Cam Young seems to be coming

I hope none of the LIV guys do well. But that's less about because they are LIV and more because outside Cam Smith, I don't care for any of the LIV players in the Masters

Was just talking to my oldest about this the other day (he's now 28) and we got to go when he was about 6 - the year Vijay won. My recollection was most about the contrast between the green grass and white sand in the bunkers (it was an overcast day and so the grass looked even more verdant). And the azaleas in Amen Corner.

His recollection was most about stopping at Shealys BBQ in Batesburg-Leesville on the way back towards CLT, lol.

I'm guessing now he'd have a different perspective, but then again, maybe not.
