Unfortunately, I think that is a fairly accurate poll. A poll a few years ago also showed that about half of the Democrat base now openly favors socialism/communism over capitalism. And now half of them favor criminalization of freedom of speech, to fine or imprison those who oppose vaccines. And over half of them want to use the military to confine people to their homes, and haul unvaccinated people off to detention camps.

And, of course, this is the party that wants to severely restrict gun rights. The Democrats are now open enemies of the First and Second Amendments. They are flagrantly anti-American in many other ways, taking offense to displays of the American flag, the Founding Fathers, etc.

These people are no longer the leftist hippies of the 60's who were "for peace, love, and free speech". They are now flaming authoritarians, who want to use the full power of government to strip people of every freedom they have, and have total power and control over the people and micromanage every part of your life, including what you can say and think -- as every communist nation does...eg, Soviet Union, Communist China, North Korea.

The Democrat party are increasingly an openly communist, totalitarian, anti-American party.
Our internal enemy grows more brazen.

The Marxist-run universities also teach that there are 70 genders, biological men can "become women", unborn children are "just a lump of cells" and "not human", that the earth is going to be destroyed from mythical "global warming", there is no God, and that we are nothing but evolved monkeys that came into existence by random chance on a rock flying through space after a big bang explosion. Big BIG Lies.

The "covid" scamdemic pLandemic is another one of those BIG lies. This is just the common flu and cold re-named and re-branded, with VASTLY inflated case numbers and "covid death" numbers fraudulently created via the bogus PCR and other testing, and methods of designating "covid cases" by presumption based on no testing at all.

Have any of the measures on college campuses kept college kids from getting covid or spreading it to non college kids? Are there any studies showing that kids on college campuses have been more of a source of spread than any other group? Genuinely curious, because frankly if I were a student, or a parent paying for a student, I believe I would choose to just stay home rather than going through some of the things they've had to go through.
My college kid spread it to me, my wife, and daughter.
But he caught it at a wedding (for his college roommate) in eastern NC over NYE, not at his college house. Though his 3 other roommates were there, and they all got it too...lol. The only one who didn't was the groom, fortunately, since he went away to Mexico on a honeymoon.
In otherwords, living life. I have no concerns about how / what he was doing or that he gave it to us. We should be able to do life things. We all got vaccinated to give us comfort that we coudl do so safely. Is there a risk...sure. Might we need to do things to manage it (boosters, etc)...maybe, but lets just do life now.

I also would say though, he's not had to "go through some things".....he's had it pretty good thru college, I mean, he may have worn a mask, or missed a few home FB gams last year, but its not like he's had to go fight with troops in Iraq or something either, and best I can tell, he and his buddies have lived a pretty normal routine of college life with lots of social fun.

Who compared it to going to war man? Jeez. If your child hasn't gone to school under draconian measures like were being discussed earlier in the thread, then he's obviously not the student I was talking about. I'm taking about those being tested multiple times a week regardless of vaccination status, those who can't sit outside and eat their lunch by themselves because of rules, I'm taking about those paying full tuition to sit in their dorm rooms and take classes online. If I had a child in those conditions, I would seriously question if my money was being spent in a productive manner. Doesn't seem like you have that problem, so, good for you.

I hear you...and my point was more that those types of things are the exception, not the rule....just like most draconian things are. But we tend to focus on those things a lot more instead of how the 90% do things. This is not even a covid-behavior of course...we do this about pretty much every topic, especially those we disagree with.

How long until a state like New York or California requires you to have taken the two clot shots and the 2/3/4/5+ endless string of boosters in order to travel to their state? And how do they enforce that?....police checkpoints at all roads leading into the state stopping all vehicles and then demanding your papers or QR code to be scanned?

But papers and QR codes can be faked. Better to scan that implanted microchip in your hand or forehead that contains your digital ID and vaxx status info.

LOL, most of the NE, upper Midwest, CA, the Pacific NW, and other institutions (colleges) sprinkled throughout the country have some form of draconian Covid mandates. Just be glad your child has it relatively easy. Many don't.

It will continue until the citizens demand it stop. That will happen when we, as non-hawaii residents and non-NY/Californians quit traveling the these places. Hit them where it hurts and do business with those who align with your philosophies. Personally, I'm traveling to Florida, but others could obviously choose other places. We had planned to go to California but I won't go there until they stop the madness.

Despite evidence to the contrary, many school districts in NC are continuing with a mask mandate for students. Some school districts are still considering on-line instruction as a viable option. What are the off-ramps to ending the mask mandates in schools? Vaccines? Those are available now for all school aged kids. Therapeutics? We now have monoclonal antibodies and antiviral treatments available.

Covid and the chance of becoming infected with Covid is not going away, so zero-Covid is not a reasonable option. What is the purpose of continuing the mask mandates for kids (and for the population in general)? Teachers are vaccinated. Kids whose parents want them to be vaccinated can get vaccinated. What more has to happen to remove the mandates?

Any parent wanting to subject their 5, 8, 10 year old to a vaccine that they know very little about in the big picture, and NO LONGER can prevent the "newest" variant needs to have their parenthood questioned, IMO.

Noticed that all of a sudden we have extra cash for vaccine commercials every 5-8 minutes on TV now as well…

It's not a lie if you believe it.

It's not going to stop until the ruling elites have implemented their "end game" agenda -- which is until they have coerced or forced ~98%+ of the population into taking the magic injections, and implemented a vaccine passport system in order to participate in most things in society (domestic flights, international travel, to visit public places, etc). And the vaccine passport system is the first step towards a "digital ID" system (tied to a digital currency, in the future), which everyone will have to participate, or else they will not be able to use the new currency system in order to buy and sell.

They have to continue with the face diaper mandates and other unnecessary requirements in order to keep up the illusion that a real "crisis" is still taking place which justifies ever more draconian measures.

Even though Omicron is less severe than a common cold, they are continuing with the insanity and only implementing ever more draconian measures -- demonstrating that this is not about "the science" or concern over the severity of any virus. It's all about this political agenda -- ie, for a worldwide communist "Great Reset" of society, United Nations Agenda 2030.

Some interesting new data on "long-Covid" and the effectiveness of vaccines to reduce the symptoms. I encounter more and more of the "long-Covid" people on Twitter when I post some good news about the reduction of deaths and patients in ICU. They typically respond with the "long-Covid" worry and how we must always worry about it, even in the face of lower deaths and severity of the disease. It appears they need to stop worrying so much and get back to living (which I know they can never do).

Some interesting and very compelling news out of Israel regarding a fourth booster. Just a couple of weeks ago, they decided to enact a policy of requiring a fourth booster and now it looks like it is not helpful. What makes more sense - a yearly vaccine, targeted to the latest variant, just like we do not with the yearly flu. If you are elderly or have some health conditions, the recommendation would be to get the vaccine and if you are healthy, it is between you and your doctor.

This is really good news Davie. Long Covid is really the risk for the vaccinated, right? The risk of death or hospitalization is so very small for vaccinated and especially those that are boosted. Long Covid is the main worry.

My wife popped positive Friday and thus far her case has been relatively mild, somewhat like a head cold. My 72 YO Mom had it last week. To see that the risk of Long Covid goes down commensurately with the risk of hospitalization/death for the vaxxed is really encouraging. Boosting almost certainly lowers the risk of LC even further.

Thanks much for sharing.

Correct. In fact, there are no peer-reviewed studies that show long-Covid is a significant issue for vaccinated people. Most all of the studies on long-Covid were done pre-vaccine. Can people who are vaccinated experience some of the symptoms of long-Covid? Yes. Is the incidence higher than an uninfected person? Based on the study, no it is not.

We have to come to grips with the fact that everyone will eventually get infected, either with Omicron or some future variant. It is too transmissible for this not to happen. We have vaccines that reduce severity of illness, but they are not proving overly effective in preventing infection, due to the Omicron variant's ability to elude antibodies. What Omicron can not do is evade the body's other protection mechanisms - particularly if you are a healthy individual. This is why people who are vaccinated (and in many cases boosted) are becoming infected, but have less severe symptoms.

I hope your wife and your mom are doing better and get well soon.

Thanks man. Mom's case was definitely worse, more like a terrible cold or mild flu that put her on her rear for four or five days but at her age she'd be more susceptible so not really surprising. Really glad she was vaxxed/boosted.

I'm fascinated to see what happens after the Omicron wave passes. I think we'll have broader immunity than at any point so far in the pandemic, and also more infection-driven immunity which I think will be both more robust and longer-lasting than vaccine-based immunity. Is spread-like-wildfire Omicron enough to get us to the mythical herd immunity stage and help this thing transition to a more predictable, seasonal virus?

I sure as hell hope so.

I mentioned this a couple of days ago, but will repeat it again. I expect the peak by mid to late this week, based on the latest hospitalization trends. Since NCDHHS has not reported any data for the past three days, I will have a better update tomorrow and I am hopeful the trend holds. Based on current data, it has peaked in NYC, Boston, and DC. Since our Winter wave started a little later than expected (due to abnormally warmer weather in November), I do expect it to take a week or two longer to peak than it did last year.

Below is the graph I posted last week, showing the flattening in the growth of daily hospitalizations. In the past, this flattening has signaled a peak 3 to 5 days later.

Do not let the MSM and Big Tech fool you or distort this. The picture below shows the type of protocol that was used across most of India (with amazing results) for almost the entire pandemic. It is essentially the Zelenko Protocol by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko @ZelenkoProtocol

Early treatment like this was massively effective everywhere it was used across the world. India primarily used hydroxychloroquine first before switching to ivermectin.

I mentioned last week that Salt Lake County issued a mask mandate for public places. My wife and ventured to a large store today. I was somewhat surprised that only 50% were wearing a mask. Also, the store personnel were not enforcing the mandate.

Just found it interesting after the recent editorial calling for use of the National Guard for keeping the unvaxxed at home. Seems like many in Utah are moving on with normal life.
