Now for the some good news. In Virginia, the new governor signed an executive order today that rescinded the vaccine mask mandate for all state employees. He also made masking in schools optional. I wish we had a governor like this in NC.

Unfortunately, I think that is a fairly accurate poll. A poll a few years ago also showed that about half of the Democrat base now openly favors socialism/communism over capitalism. And now half of them favor criminalization of freedom of speech, to fine or imprison those who oppose vaccines. And over half of them want to use the military to confine people to their homes, and haul unvaccinated people off to detention camps.

And, of course, this is the party that wants to severely restrict gun rights. The Democrats are now open enemies of the First and Second Amendments. They are flagrantly anti-American in many other ways, taking offense to displays of the American flag, the Founding Fathers, etc.

These people are no longer the leftist hippies of the 60's who were "for peace, love, and free speech". They are now flaming authoritarians, who want to use the full power of government to strip people of every freedom they have, and have total power and control over the people and micromanage every part of your life, including what you can say and think -- as every communist nation does...eg, Soviet Union, Communist China, North Korea.

Have any of the measures on college campuses kept college kids from getting covid or spreading it to non college kids? Are there any studies showing that kids on college campuses have been more of a source of spread than any other group? Genuinely curious, because frankly if I were a student, or a parent paying for a student, I believe I would choose to just stay home rather than going through some of the things they've had to go through.

No. There hasn't been. It's not about protecting those more vulnerable. It's not about science. It is 100% political/religion.

If there was any tooth in these regulations protecting not the college kids at essentially zero risk, but those less vulnerable, there would be hundreds of colleges throughout the south where data would prove their point. Schools that don't require boosters, don't require K95 masks, don't require biweekly testing for double vaccinated and boosted college kids. There should have been a fall/winter of death from the students at State, UNC, the entire SEC, etc if there was any tooth to their claims. But there hasn't been. Because it's bull*****

At risk individuals for years have had to take extra precautions so they don't get sick during flu season. But, we've never shut down the general population to help that. As was posted yesterday, we're currently dealing with a variant that has a lower hospitalization rate than the seasonal flu. So why should we not be back to normal way of life? Especially students of all ages.
