Lol, if only. No, he just got his 100th punch on his Rabid Antisemitism/Veiled Threats/Not So Veiled Threats punch card, which apparently at IPS earns you an entire month off!

So the firehose of unhinged lunacy should be back just in time for the election. Yay!

Trump opens red-dyed diesel to truckers in bid to slash fuel costs

President Donald Trump is giving truckers a new way to fight pain at the pump, signing an executive order that temporarily lets them fill up with red-dyed diesel normally barred from highway use.

"They're going to be very happy in about two seconds," Trump said during remarks in Grand Island, Nebraska, before announcing the relief.

The order allows off-road diesel on highways and defers the federal excise tax through year's end without interest or penalties, according to the White House.

Well done Mr. President

Seems like a sensible move. And plenty he does that I'm not a fan of. Still, a few things his administration has done that I am a big fan of include the DOJ massively going after the scamming industry and election fraud busts. Both pose a threat to American citizens albeit in different ways.

The problem is the supplier side. Those guys can't just ship off road diesel to truck stops. Are truck stops going to want to have dyed diesel? Is it going to create a problem with all their equipment when we return back to the regulations for tax purposes? It sounds easy to waive your hand like you're Yul Brynner in The 10 Commandments, but I just don't think this is going to do anything to diesel prices except raise the price of offroad further because this change doesn't produce more diesel.

How about we just get out of Iran? We won the war months ago, and 15 times since, according to the clown show.

So why are we still there, while our economy flails as a result back home?

They need to commit to completing the job. There are positive signs that some things are working, but the lack of commitment to troops is going to extend this. And I don't mean that statement as something I take lightly. If they back out now, it's a loss and this is all for not.

A commitment to troops, with what specific goal(s)?
freedom from the tyranny of the Iranian regime for the people of Iran

This requires not only ousting the current regime, but also committing to rebuild and support a new government that will be confronting an insurgency. Trump has no long term strategy and the American people are not bought in to back such a multi-year campaign. I can't see this ending up better than Iraq
you see Iraq of today as a failure?

4,500 dead soldiers, 200,000 dead civilians and $2 trillion spent. The years aftermath of the initial invasion was a debacle and the current relative stability does not cover for that.

Also the American public was bought into that conflict much more than Iran
