Press box is really bad and the lack of premium seating hurts (I know premium seating is set to change with renovations).
I have season tickets and it's extremely rare that I miss a game other than the early season 3PM weekdays. However, not the case for lots of others. There were two people in front of me on Friday & Saturday and it was the first time those seats had been sat in all season. Seats behind me have yet to have anyone in them all year aside from after the Middle of the 5th when the ushers let you move to wherever.
I wish we would figure out a way or put more emphasis on actually getting people in seats regardless of whether they're paid for or not, or at least allow some sort of way for these tickets to be put back on GoPack.
For this week's Tuesday night game against UNCW, you can sit in the bleachers on top of the hill for $21.50 each or buy a SRO ticket for $11.50 each, plus a $5 order charge. So for two people to go, your options are pay $48 to sit in the bleachers or pay $28 to stand. Neither of which are exactly great experiences, not to mention these are the prices for a Tuesday night game against a 23-19 CAA team. And the red chairback seats will be less than 1/2 full, as they have been for basically every game this year outside of this weekend. If I only came to 1-2 games a season or was going to my first game ever, I'd be frustrated that I was paying what I was paying to sit in the bleachers or stand when there were literally 1,000 red seats unoccupied. I think that deters people who aren't season ticket holders from buying tickets. Overall, Doak does not present a great fan experience and we don't do anything to help with that (concession prices have skyrocketed in recent years and we don't do anything like $1 hot dogs, beer deals, cool giveaways).
Additionally, while I understand it for midweeks, I wish we would push the start time of our Friday night games back to 6:30 or 7. We had a great crowd Friday but it didn't fill in until 6:45/7, 6PM is a really tough time to make for people who work. I live and work less than ten minutes from Doak and it's tough to make it by first pitch a lot of the time.
Baseball is probably my favorite NC State sport and as consistently good as we are at it, I really wish we would push for people to get to the ballpark more. But it feels like since so many seats are sold, they don't really care to promote it much.
