UVA got to Nance pretty good, but that's 19(!) scoreless innings since. All without allowing a free pass, striking out 19, and ceding just 5 hits.
Sheesh
I don't really get why they don't use both instead of burning a good arm for the rest of the weekend but it works.
I'm fine with it, just wish you had the option of having your best arm in a rubber match for the series on sat/sun.
I'm saying use him but in shorter stints. Throw him two innings and 30-40 pitches game one and trust the other guys in your pen to get six outs.
You're relying on those guys the next two days anyways.

It's been unbelievable. Dudan and smith were awesome last year but this is different with the control and the length. I know some want him to start but he's a damn weapon out of the pen and I wouldn't touch a thing. This is closer to what Evan Justice was doing when we made the run and beat Arkansas and made the CWS. He's been unreal. Hope he and the rest of the guys can keep it up! We came out ready to roll, aggressive on the base paths and fired up and it was honestly like Clemson just couldn't get to our level. Love to see it!
I'm over here trying to remember other great pitching stretches from recent memory and Justice's from super regional through Omaha is my number one with a bullet.
He will get knocked around eventually and it will backfire that weekend, But right now I am riding that horse until he stumbles and probably after that too.Jtilley said:DrummerboyWolf said:We will just have to agree to disagree. I also said if it isn't broke don't fix it, so there's that.
It may not ever happen but at some point it could backfire if say you're riding him Friday night, end up losing and burning him for the weekend.

But is the math correct?griff17matt said:WolfQuacker said:

Thanks for doing the math

Definitely something to look at. Hopefully he is happy in Raleigh and can be dominant for us. Then he will get paid well.wirewolf said:
I really hope we can hang on to Nance and he isn't thrown a bunch of money by SEC teams. He is dominant.

I'm gonna need somebody to explain to me how you run rule the #2 team in the country and your RPI goes up 2 spots while theirs goes up 1 by losing the same game.
Just watched that and tabbed (I think correctly but was interrupted a couple of times) 7 of 11 hits and a sac fly off the starters changeup. That is really impressive IMO, almost to the point that it makes me think he was tipping that pitch.DrummerboyWolf said:

You may be right. On the broadcast, I believe they were saying he could not lift weights for 6 months or something like that. If Hart gets the chance, he needs to test that armSpuds said:
Anybody else notice that every throw from Cannarella was a floater to the cutoff man? He never tried to rope one back in. He may be hurt. I'd test his arm at least once if the opportunity arises.
