Great weekend… realistic shot to pass FSU for the regular season title?

Technically, we are in first place right now by a half game.
Louisville is batting in the bottom of the 8th and a 3 run lead on FSU.

Pitt is batting in the bottom of the 7th and leading UNC by 3.
Pitt and Louisville both won

Watching the post-game interviews with Avent the last two days, he's mentioned in both about the need to expand the stadium with more seats for the fans.

When I see our stadium, the super small press box and amount of seating directly behind home plate is sort of embarrassing….for a D1 program of our stature. I'm not aware that this is in the upcoming next phase of improvements…but IMO they should tear down that current press box ASAP and replace it with more seats and a new press box moved further back.

One of the more impressive performances over the course of a series that I can remember. Right up there with sweeping UNC in chapel hill a few years back.

Not particularly Pack/Tigers related. But why on earth every time i turn on ACC network it's lacrosse or field hockey or softball? The ACC has some of the best baseball in the country and it's never on its network?!

I will say this and freely admit I don't go to baseball games but most Friday night games this year have looked sparsely attended behind home plate. I get that we have a stadium that needs upgrading but I'm not so sure adding a ton of seats is best use of funds. Know some additions/improvements are in progress which is solely needed

a lot of those seats are season tickets where they don't show up for every game. those seats are sold though. we would sell seats if we added them

About every game I've looked at attending shows standing room only but plenty of seats empty watching it on tv.

no one complaining about the rain out on Tuesday

We need 3-4k more seats and a beer garden

I am a season ticket holder with a seat behind home plate. I rarely last more than 2-3 innings in my seat. I usually end up standing between the last row of seats and the press box or somewhere down the first base concourse.

The "rain out" on Tuesday is still bs. Huge series win this weekend. Go pack.

The reasoning behind the rainout Tuesday wasn't due to the rain. It was because of the lightening in the area. One a strike is recorded within a 8 mile radius starts a 30 minute delay. If another strike happens within that 8 mile radius the clock starts over again. This is according to either Tony Haynes or Andrew Sanders. Neither coach wanted to go through the starting and stopping of the game.

None of that is in the Phase 3. No roof, no major expansion of seating.

It sure looks nice to see the Pack on top of the ACC standings. Also nice to have the sweep of Clemson done and to be able to sit back tomorrow and see how these other games turn out.

Hopefully Louisville and Pitt can repeat today's performances and give FSU and UNC a couple of more L's tomorrow.

A couple of interesting developments in the middle of the standings. Ga Tech is in free fall right now. Dropped the first two to UVA after the sweep by Miami last weekend. Duke blew a 7-0 lead as Va Tech evened that series. Wake rallied for 5 runs in the top of the 9th at Stanford to even that series. Miami stays hot with first two at BC. I think they play in Fenway Park tomorrow on ESPNU at noon.

From a fan amenity standpoint this Doak renovation has turned into a quiet, fragrance-free fart

GT has lost 7 straight games (5 conference) after such a hot start.
Our games in Miami will be interesting because they are really hot now as well.

Ok. My last comment on it. There was no weather in the area after the line passed through. If it was a game that mattered for resume it would've been played. If we're going to cancel games like that at least be honest about the reason.

Press box is really bad and the lack of premium seating hurts (I know premium seating is set to change with renovations).

I have season tickets and it's extremely rare that I miss a game other than the early season 3PM weekdays. However, not the case for lots of others. There were two people in front of me on Friday & Saturday and it was the first time those seats had been sat in all season. Seats behind me have yet to have anyone in them all year aside from after the Middle of the 5th when the ushers let you move to wherever.

I wish we would figure out a way or put more emphasis on actually getting people in seats regardless of whether they're paid for or not, or at least allow some sort of way for these tickets to be put back on GoPack.

For this week's Tuesday night game against UNCW, you can sit in the bleachers on top of the hill for $21.50 each or buy a SRO ticket for $11.50 each, plus a $5 order charge. So for two people to go, your options are pay $48 to sit in the bleachers or pay $28 to stand. Neither of which are exactly great experiences, not to mention these are the prices for a Tuesday night game against a 23-19 CAA team. And the red chairback seats will be less than 1/2 full, as they have been for basically every game this year outside of this weekend. If I only came to 1-2 games a season or was going to my first game ever, I'd be frustrated that I was paying what I was paying to sit in the bleachers or stand when there were literally 1,000 red seats unoccupied. I think that deters people who aren't season ticket holders from buying tickets. Overall, Doak does not present a great fan experience and we don't do anything to help with that (concession prices have skyrocketed in recent years and we don't do anything like $1 hot dogs, beer deals, cool giveaways).

Additionally, while I understand it for midweeks, I wish we would push the start time of our Friday night games back to 6:30 or 7. We had a great crowd Friday but it didn't fill in until 6:45/7, 6PM is a really tough time to make for people who work. I live and work less than ten minutes from Doak and it's tough to make it by first pitch a lot of the time.

Baseball is probably my favorite NC State sport and as consistently good as we are at it, I really wish we would push for people to get to the ballpark more. But it feels like since so many seats are sold, they don't really care to promote it much.

Seems like lower bowl is all season ticket holders or family tickets. About damn near impossible to get anything other than bleachers/hill or standing room only for about any game.

Yep. While I think the renovations (whenever they are completed) will be great, the lack of adding a true student section and more chairback seating will hurt.

I wish we'd utilize the area beyond left field more than we do. Lee Field is never used by students or anything it's such a waste of space.

Hate admitting it but they are the standard in terms of facilities/ballpark/atmosphere for baseball in NC.

Been to probably 6-8 games there, about half of them against us. It's impressive. Went to our midweek there last season and walking up to the stadium based on the tailgating that was going on you would've thought that you were walking into a football game.

Yep they have a great baseball atmosphere. Its a bit easier to do when your have a high school basketball gym and not great football. Baseball is their money maker

It is called passion for baseball. The people down in that part of the state love baseball. Between the passion for the game and the talent in that area, ECU has a very nice thing going with baseball.
