Credit to the coaches (is that allowed?) for sticking with Derrick Smith through his struggles. He just woke up and decided to be the best pitcher on the planet.

What a damn pitching clinic that was.

One of the most dominant performances against a great team I can remember, along with clutch hitting, superb base running, and overcoming an erratic as hell home plate ump. Those guys battled a strike zone that was all over the place all night and still looked incredible.

Would love to break out the brooms today but regardless two of three from Clemson is huge and hopefully gives the staff confidence and springboards us down the stretch.

I don't care for a fire Avent thread right now but there is certainly a topic to be discussed when season is over about how much longer does Avent coach.
We had one last season. The thought process I've heard is the admin would at least like to see the Doak Renovations completed since he's had to compete in what is equal to a DII level stadium his entire career. Now will that happen since the project has been pushed back? Who knows.

It was stated last weekend that it was an illness, but I believe I saw someone say this week he was in a walking boot, though I can't verify.
