With Kathrine and her situation she has a shot at getting both races in. I believe Tony is the only driver who has completed all 1100 miles. I only say this because she doesn't have to worry about either qualifying or making the chase.

That's my point. So, she doesn't even have to qualify for either of them?

I don't think Indy does the last row qualifying anymore? As for the 600, I doubt that is a full field. Either way, still cool for a 45 year old to try it. She isn't going to get the headlines.

I believe I saw where there are only 33 entries for the 500 so she is guaranteed a spot

Thanks. I think she is in a AJ car? On a side note, really looking forward to the 600 weekend. We are lucky enough to have a few industry leaders who sit around us, good time to get some juice on what's going on.

I always get amped for the 600. It was always on my dads must go to race. Same with the Winston. I wish the all star race would return to Charlotte. But the 500 is on my bucket list. I follow from qualifying on

Back in the old Textiles days, I went to the 600 probably as many as 15 years in a row... always sat up in the Speedway Club with one of the yarn companies.

And this may sound strange, but the one time I went to the fall race with a couple of buddies and sat at the beginning of the backstretch just where they are coming out of turn 2 - I enjoyed that a lot more.

All the free beer and food stuff is great, but it's just a little too austere up there sitting behind all the glass.

Oh. and nothing compares with hearing a motor blow up in person.

Nice to see Kyle B back in victory lane. Agree Storm, nothing beats sitting in the stands and hearing those cars come thundering by.

Either bring the race back to CMS or move it around to some short tracks and help out the local short tracks around the south east.

Last all star race I went to was around 98. Sat in a suite just at the beginning of the back stretch. Was owned by Manheim Auto Auctions. Free everything but full of a bunch of drunk car salesman. Next week for the 600, front stretch near turn one looking down pit road. The gas smell, tires, the noise. That's racing

Yep, you can't beat the smell of a high octane gasoline and rubber. Thats part of the fun of going, sitting among other rednecks like ourself and cheering them on.

We used to go to Rockingham every year, both the spring and fall races. One of the more fun times was sitting on the back stretch coming out of turn 2, down in the lower rows and feeling the air rush by on the laps where they are all together on the green flag......wind, dust, debris, rubber, the sound.....all made it an experience. In the later years, we sat on the front stretch in front of the tower. Fun times
