Eighth-seeded NC State women's tennis fell to top-seeded Georgia, 4-1, Friday evening at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals. The Wolfpack closes the season with its fourth Elite Eight appearance in the last six seasons and wraps up a year that included the program's second NCAA doubles national title and second ACC Championship in program history.
With the season-ending loss, NC State finishes the spring with a 25-8 overall dual record, marking the third-most wins in a single season under head coach Simon Earnshaw. The Wolfpack also set a program record earlier this season by winning the doubles point in 14 consecutive matches.
