Glad to see the 9 get the win. I'm sure that kid and the family will always take the moment in. Now, as for the race, that was a hard one to watch.
Chase all the way up to 2nd in points ahead of even Larson, Hamlin and Bell now... I know I didn't get to see many races here the last however many weeks, but that's the last thing I would have expected to see this morning?

Another 1st time winner too, which I think now brings us up to 12, right?

8 more regular season races left before the playoffs start?

I need to look at the number of winners. The 9 was around 4th in points so he was basically a lock. The 9 hasn't been winning but that team has been very consistent.
No, I was still tracking the SVP provisional scenario... we'd need 5 more first time winners in the last 8 regular season races for him to get punted from The Chase (if he is the lowest point total of all race winners).

I know we just had 3 in a row new winners, but I'd be really be hard pressed to see another 5 in the next 8.

I got ya. Agree about seeing another 5. Three at the most, with what's left track wise in the regular season.

Sorry, I meant SVG (I guess I morphed it over to Scott Van Pelt, accidentally)...

Kind of interesting once you take a closer look at who hasn't won yet...

Reddick
Buescher
Bowman
Wallace
Busch
Gibbs
Keselowski

Then superspeedway-wise:

Stenhouse
McDowell
A. Dillon

But I agree, not probable...

Well, for example like if Bowman won again this weekend in Chicago?

Somewhat. If I'm a driver at or near the cut off, I'm praying that the Brad Ks and Gibbs don't get one here soon. That line is probably 12 ish.

Exactly. There are names on that list that have won races before and on a single race basis, are capable of doing it again. Stranger things have happened.

Only 4 drivers are getting in on solely points as it stands right now.

@TNTdrama + @truTV got 1.608 million viewers for Saturday's delayed NASCAR Cup race at Echo Park.
That does not include @StreamOnMax viewers.
No direct comparison to last year because Atlanta was in September and the same calendar weekend was Nashville on Sunday on NBC.

Wolfer79

@WBD's social media platforms @BleacherReport, @br_racing and @HoHighlights generated 17 million video views about NASCAR over the weekend, per the network.

This was @TNTdrama's first time airing the NASCAR Cup Series since 2014.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. made the jump from Amazon's five-race broadcast schedule to TNT's five-race slate starting in Atlanta, and while he was excited for the transition, he admitted it came with some uncertainty.

Most of the TNT production team was unfamiliar territory for him. That hadn't been the case at Amazon, where, even though the top layer of the operation was branded Amazon, the actual foundation was loaded with familiar NBC names. As Earnhardt has said before, that comfort level helped the Prime Video broadcasts click as quickly as they did.

Chicago street race sadly. One of many reasons that I was sad to see SHR go, at one time they were a very good four car team.
