No. 20 NC State hosted a double-header against Elon and NC Central Sunday, Feb. 25 in Raleigh.
Head Coach Kyle Spencer celebrates with his team Sunday evening as he recorded his hundredth career win against NC Central. The Pack defeated fellow NC schools Elon 7-0, and NC Central 4-0. Spencer joined the Pack June, 2017 . Spencer, former Olympian and All-American, made the move to Raleigh after serving four seasons as the assistant coach at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Also, Spencer previously head coached at Maryland.
Spencer has been behind the success of many Pack Pro athletes such as Tadas Babelis, Martins Rocens, and Alexis Galarneau.
During Spencer's time at NC State he has led his team to four NCAA appearances including four singles appearances, two doubles, and one team. Spencer has also coached three of nine ITA All-Americans that have competed at NC State. ITA All- Americans include Alexis Galarneau (2020, 2021), Joe Wayand (2023), and Rafa Izquierdo Luque (2023).
Statement from Head Coach Kyle Spencer's on 100th career win at NC State: "I found out today that it was my hundredth win alongside Cris James, that's our partner and that's really special. None of it would be possible without all the guys who have come through our program and it's really a credit to them that we hit a milestone co cool."
Fons Van Sambeek's take on Coach Spencer: "Coach Spencer is way more than just a coach to me, I see him as an example. He has helped me both on and off the court, and he genuinely cares about every guy on the team."
The Pack headed into Sunday's match coming off of Thursday's 7-0 sweep against Campbell. Maintaining momentum from Thursday's victory the Pack carried that energy into the weekend.
Starting things off on court three juniors
Damien Salvestre and Joe Wayand have had explosive chemistry in doubles play this week, sitting down opponents Juan Sengariz and Ben Ziplay(Elon) in a 6-2 match. The pair gave the Pack the lead in doubles play against the Phoenix, finishing up first on court 3.

Fons Van Sambeek were not far behind as they worked hand and hand to take care of opponents Oskar Antinheimo, and Jack Curtis, 6-2 putting the first point of the day on the board for the Wolfpack.
The Pack moved into singles play with
Luca Staeheli pulling off a strong 6-1 first set for the Pack. All courts took the lead in the first set, breaking away from their Phoenix opponents.
On court six No. 124 Joe Wayand wasted no time in the second set getting a quick lead over opponent Jack Curtis. Wayand created the pick for the Wolfpack and put the first point on the board in singles giving the Pack a 2-0 lead. Right behind him was Staeheli closing out his match on court four 6-4,6-0.
Within three minutes of each other Van Sambeek, Catry, Salvestre, and Shick all dominated the Phoenix in a collective two-set match takedown on each court.
The Pack started off strong in the first match of the day in anticipation for their coach's hundredth win in sight.
Maintaining momentum from the first match, Damien Salveste and Joe Wayand started things off in similar fashion on court three, dominating 6-0 against opponents Hugo Hidalgo-Vega and Leo Fortier- Gariepy(NCCU). Following their lead was

Fons Van Sambeek on court five with a 6-2 victory clinching the doubles point for the Pack.
Coming off the bench Sophomore
Martin Borisiouk made his way into the Wolfpack singles lineup having a strong 6-0 first set against the Eagles. With a fresh set of legs Borisiouk cruised his way through the match shutting out opponent Neiman Sneed (NCCU) 6-0, 6-0.
Statement from Martin Borisiousk: "When you play you don't think about it, you just do it and enjoy the moment. The more I practice, the more it just becomes natural."
On court three
Fons Van Sambeek picked up the third point of the match in a 6-1, 6-2 win for the Pack following Borisiouk's shut out on court six. Inching closer to the second victory of the evening
Luca Staeheli picked up the pace in the second set leading 6-0 to clinch the final match point for the Wolfpack.
