NC State women's hoops (31-3) makes its fourth-straight NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance on Saturday as it takes on ACC foe Notre Dame (24-8) in Bridgeport, Conn. The game is set for an 11:30 a.m. tip off from the Total Mortgage Arena, with the winner advancing to Monday's Elite 8 game.

The game will be televised nationally on ESPN with Ryan Ruocco, Rebecca Lobo, Holly Rowe and Andraya Cater on the call. Andrew Sanders and Ernie Myers will also have the radio call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh.

SERIES HISTORY (Notre Dame leads 8-2)
Saturday's game marks the 11th overall meeting between NC State and Notre Dame. It will be just the second time that the teams will meet twice in the same season, as they also did so in 2013-14, Moore's first year as head coach of the Wolfpack.
NC State and Notre Dame have never played one another in the NCAA Tournament.
The Wolfpack owns just two wins in the all-time series between the squads. The Wolfpack upset second-ranked Notre Dame at home on Dec. 29, 2016 (70-62) and earned its first-ever road win against the Fighting Irish on Jan. 12, 2020 (90-56).
Saturday's contest marks the seventh time that NC State and Notre Dame will meet as a pair of ranked squads. NC State is 0-6 in the previous such contests. The Wolfpack has only been the higher-ranked team in two of those games - its first-ever meeting against Notre Dame (No. 8 Wolfpack vs. No. 14 Fighting Irish on Nov. 21, 1996) and its most recent meeting earlier this season (No. 3 Wolfpack at No. 20 Fighting Irish on Feb. 1).

NC State takes on No. 2-seeded UConn in the Elite Eight on Monday, March 28 at 7 p.m.

The third-ranked and one-seeded NC State women's basketball team (32-3) will make its first NCAA Tournament Elite Eight appearance in 24 years on Monday night as it matches up against UConn (28-5). The Wolfpack and the Huskies will face off at 7 p.m. inside Total Mortgage Arena, and the winner will move on to the NCAA Final Four in Minneapolis.

MONDAY STORYLINES
Monday's game marks the first time that Coach Moore and Geno Auriemma will face off as head coaches. Moore was an assistant coach on Kay Yow's staff when the teams matched up during the 1994-95 campaign.
NC State has faced three top-five opponents so far this season. The Wolfpack is 2-1 in those matchups, with its only loss coming to top-ranked South Carolina to start the year.
Five Wolfpack players are averaging double figures scoring in the 2022 NCAA Tournament - Perez (12.7), Jakia Brown-Turner (11.0), Cunane (11.0), Diamond Johnson (10.7) and Kayla Jones (10.3).
NC State has won 13 games in a row and is a perfect 6-0 in ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament action in 2021-22. The team has not lost since Feb. 1.
Cunane tied Chasity Melvin's program record for most NCAA Tournament rebounds with 82 in just nine career games.
Crutchfield set a program record for most NCAA Tournament games played with her 12th career game on Saturday. With the 2020 tournament being canceled due to the pandemic, Crutchfield accomplished that mark in four tournaments.

SERIES HISTORY (UConn leads 6-2)
Monday's game marks the ninth overall meeting between NC State and UConn. It will be the fifth time that the teams square off in the NCAA Tournament.
NC State is 1-3 in NCAA Tournament games against UConn.
The Pack's only such win over the Huskies was in the 1998 NCAA Tournament regional final. NC State beat UConn by a 60-52 score in Dayton, Ohio to advance to its first and only NCAA Final Four.
