I have memories of her from the 1960's when my mama watched the Porter Wagoner Show.

The woman's singing voice had the greatest pitch. She could hit a high note that could make you cry.

"Jolene" was one of my all time favorites. It was also based on a true story.

A good hearted person as well. Quite the activist and humanitarian.

I'm sitting out on my back porch taking in the evening sounds. That includes neighbors two doors down who have the music cranked up and I can hear her singing "nine to five". Great American life story.

Makes me think of my grandmother. Being a little kid and her smoking cigarettes and listening to Dolly.

I remember when she got her own variety show for maybe a couple of years (had to be sometime in the mid 70's)... show began with her swinging in some kind of dolled up chair swing, ended with her signing a portion of her most famous song. That was a long time ago. She accomplished many amazing things over the years...
