Civ, regardless of the current law, what if the ones that were on the voting rolls were in fact illegal and should not be eligible to vote? Knowing how concerned you and I both want elections to be above board, what would your response be to my question?
Second, is it not possible that these voters in question have recently been determined to be ineligible or just been added to take advantage of the law?
Third, my biggest concern is why isn't local board of elections routinely reviewing and purging ineligible voters where this would not be an issue?
Do you walk around in your daily life in fear of an event that has a 0.0001 percent chance of happening, especially since that number would need to be 100-fold or 1000-fold higher in frequency for it to be a problem?
My response - for the hundredth time on here - is that this is a completely fake problem.

A study of the 2016 election by the Brennan Center for Justice reviewing data for jurisdictions where some 23.5 million ballots were cast found just 30 cases of suspected noncitizen voting or 0.0001 percent of the total votes cast.
A Washington Post review of conservative Heritage Foundation election fraud tracking found 85 cases in which noncitizens attempted to vote between 2002 and 2023 a period during which 2 billion votes have been cast in federal elections.
The libertarian Cato Institute has also called the claims one of the "most frequent and less serious criticisms" relating to migration.
GOP pushes false claims about migrant voting: What are the facts?Have you ever seen studies, anywhere, that claim otherwise?
So sure, purge away - when you can do so legally. Just keep in mind most "purging" isn't getting "illegal" voters off the rolls, it's to clean up voters that have died or moved or otherwise aren't going to be voting in the precinct in question.
And there are multiple safeguards against duplicate voting or voting illegally already, it's not like voter purging a month before an election is all standing between us and anarchy. Not even close.
