Civ, regardless of the current law, what if the ones that were on the voting rolls were in fact illegal and should not be eligible to vote? Knowing how concerned you and I both want elections to be above board, what would your response be to my question?

Second, is it not possible that these voters in question have recently been determined to be ineligible or just been added to take advantage of the law?

Third, my biggest concern is why isn't local board of elections routinely reviewing and purging ineligible voters where this would not be an issue?

The law exists because we have a long history of dirty tricks where voter rolls get purged right before an election, when there isn't enough time for the person purged to even realize they were purged, let alone do anything about it before election day.

If you're going to purge rolls, there should be enough time for purging "mistakes" to get corrected. If you're concerned about a last second voter registration conspiracy, then pass a law that prevents voter registration after a certain date before the election.

Florida is accessing the database to confirm if they are citizens. Every state has the right to do that and DHS should not be allowed to block it. It is not an act of changing voter rolls, rather an act of confirming voter rolls.
