Did it cross your mind that I made the post basic because I was trying to keep it simple for others who aren't as experienced as you and storm are? This isn't a technical message board.

You guys are so condescending here, I don't get it.

I stated facts, period. Just stop man. If you gave it that much thought you should get another hobby.

As usual, I can't make heads or tails of the point of your bloviating.

Are you saying you actually believe Trump and the problems with the reflecting pool are because of some sort of vandalism?

It does not surprise me at all that you do not understand. You do not understand ARMs, you do not understand consulting, you do not understand waste/Lean, list goes on and on....... All of which you proven to have no knowledge of but continue to insult. You are the definition of someone behind a keyboard with a lot of confidence. And most of the the time wrong!

What a great post.

Lol, uh huh.

I only worked in Mortgage Backed Securities in the second largest investment bank on Earth, but ARMs are really hard. Thankfully the guy who got his ass handed to him by an ARM was here to help me out.

It's definitely true that I don't understand why anyone would pay this bloviating tool for his consulting services… seems like the exact waste they should be cutting.

Help me understand what getting their ass handed to him means. I am making over 30% ROI with the ARM. When you were working in securities if you only made 30% for your clients would you consider that they got their asses handed to them?

Sorry, I knew that would sidetrack you. Please answer the reflecting pool question, I'm really trying to understand this conspiracy.

I have made no comments about the reflecting pool. Just another topic that Fox will report one way and CNN will report another way. Continuing to divide. I only commented on basic construction knowledge. Now throw more insults keyboard warrior!

It's pretty binary. Either you believe Trump's evidence-free claim that vandals are responsible for the algae and peeling paint, or you think Trump''s full of it and it was just shoddy work.

For some reason you felt the need to jump into the conversation and condescend Hokie's assessment of the construction situation. What was the point of that again?

More options exist. One being I could care less. I am allowed to share however I want to on a message board.

I was not once condescending. I stated facts. I did not insult like you have numerous times about me and my profession. Or as I believe Hokie himself has done about my companies brand being to focus on the customer.
I have been respectful to you on your work and even defended your work on lean production to Smapty because you know what your talking about. I was hoping for the same respect and I did t get that. It's over. I'm done commenting now on the issue.

that's a disagreement on the opinion of a policy, I've never said anything about your knowledge of the industry you work in and the work that you do. I think you're extremely knowledgeable, especially when it comes to lean manufacturing.

I've never said to you "you don't know Lean 101".

No, I want to have a respectful discussion here. And I'd appreciate that my stances on issues wouldn't be made up to prove some point about the far left. Finally it would be nice not to have people stalk me on line. Not too much to ask.

There are times you and I have agreed and disagreed but it didn't disintegrate into calling each other names.

If I may, I think there's some cross-talk going on here.

My impression of your input and responses (including mine) on tariff impacts, inflation, pass-throughs, and your business have nothing to do with your business model, some businesses being able run leaner or otherwise avoid passing through cost increases, or your ability to succeed by providing great value for your customers.

The issue at hand is whether enough companies worldwide can or are willing to undertake similar changes to their purchasing, operational, sales or other business functions so as for the American economy and consumers to not broadly experience inflationary pressures and cost increases in the face of tariff-related supply chain cost increases.

That conversation relates to reach and scale. Through that macro lens, the answer is a resounding 'no'. There's zero evidence either historically, or recently since Trump's stupid tariffs, that tariffs won't increase costs for businesses and subsequently for consumers, especially when implemented arbitrarily, punitively, and en masse.

That's not an indictment of you, your model, your business, or your observations about tailored solutions on relatively small scales being able to avoid tariff cost increase pass-throughs.

It's just a simple acknowledgment of historical and current observations on a scale exponentially larger than the one you operate on day to day.

Yep, when someone attempts to twist your words into some sort of egregious act, they get smacked. I have not desire to beat on this guy. I'm just not going to take his threats idly. I'll gladly back off and he only gets slapped when he threatens violence.

His threats come after he embarrasses himself - once again - with his position. Let's avoid both, I'm all for it!

Your historical approach has kept me very busy. Think differently!

My business model is totally based on costs, especially sudden change across industries, costs like tariffs and inflation. Most companies do not think about gaining market share during these times. The ones I work with do and have been very successful.

As I have said many times 90% of CEOs think they are in the top 10% of all CEOs.

I post on here to share what is happening in the world I work in. I have called them "good" companies because that is part of the brand I have built. Both you and Hokie have made comments about what I consider a "good" companies. I stand by my brand even in the face of historical data.

You have posted more than one time about "good" companies or "bad" companies. With an attached article. You know you have done it. You know it is condescending about the brand I have built my company where you focus on customer. With the intent of gaining market share. Mainly in reference to tariffs and not automatically passing on additional costs.

I stand by your brand too!

Historical thinking and approaches and inefficiencies provide you a great deal of professional opportunity.

I just push back on the usefulness of the "good company/bad company" labels from a tariff prudence analysis standpoint. I'm agnostic about whether companies are good or bad based on their willingness and ability to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and avoid pass-throughs.

Your business benefits from opportunities from tariffs.

And, we need a clear understanding and assessment of the probability that costs have increased or will increase across the entirety of the economy as a result of economically harmful and illegal tariff policy.

Both are true.

In order for Whirlpool to be a good manufacturer, they're only going to raise their prices 3% next year, right?

Here is an example of Hokie talking about "Good" Companies.

Jesus, do we really need to re-litigate this again?

Whatever legitimate benefits a company can gain from Lean, it has nothing to do with your dogmatic bloviating about "bad" companies and massive waste that nobody can realistically do anything about (which you of course brought up here to justify Trump's tariffs while pretending you don't have an opinion about Trump's tariffs).

Free advice: Your "brand" apparently is the kind of consultant speak that competent C-suite types get very good at sniffing out and avoiding.

Buddy, you don't see the difference that fine. You win.

I do not see it as win or lose. I am just sharing what you posted about my business. Only because you got upset that people posted about yours.
no, I disagreed with you that lean manufacturing would allow for manufacturers to absorb tariffs. I said nothing about you or your business. In fact I respect your business greatly as I use lean in construction.

You on the other hand, decided because you disagreed with me implied that I didn't know construction 101.

Again you don't see the difference. That's fine. I apologize to you if you felt I was belittling your business and professionalism.

I doubt I'll get the same. That's fine too.

Lots of made up stuff again. Tied with a few insults. Why are you confident enough to post things you have absolutley no knowledge of. Would you say these things in person? I have a few CEOs I use as reference, would you be up for me arranging a call and we all talk about it. Maybe you can ask them directly why they did not sniff out and avoid me. Full disclosure, I will share their market share gains and savings from the work I did with them.

I have not once posted a company was bad.

I did not support any tariffs, I am free market.

I am serious about setting up these calls. Are you up for having them? If you are not then shut the hell up about something you know nothing about.

It is your call.

I am the only one that has talked about costs and good/smart companies. Your posts were directed at me.

As I said yesterday my post was not intended to be anything more than facts.

Yeah, because I disagreed with you on tariffs, thought we were having a discussion. No problem, I believe you that you weren't trying to be disrespectful.

No one said anything about you not knowing Construction 101. What was said was that prep work for refinishing the surface of the reflection pool is Construction 101 type stuff. You are implying that it wasn't done correctly. I'm implying that it would of had to have been because - if even I know those basics - that it has to be considered basic Construction 101.

You own a huge Construction company, so obviously you know construction exponentially better than I do... I'm not dumb enough to think otherwise regarding that.

Lol, hard pass.

If you've convinced some CEOs to buy what you're selling then more power to you. They must be "good".

Its not convincing, it is monthly, quarterly, objective evidence that what they had me do improved the business.
Offer stands, but understand you would rather shut up than to actually face something you know nothing about but continue to insult.

No, I'd rather keep my exposure to excruciating people confined to the Water Cooler. But thanks for the offer.
