Specifically, the IAEA reported that Iran:
kept uranium enrichment below the 3.67% cap, stayed under the 300 kg enriched uranium limit, limited operating centrifuges as required, and allowed extensive inspections and monitoring.

That said, the Trump administration argued the deal was flawed for broader strategic reasons, including:
it did not restrict Iran's ballistic missile program (laughable considering his comments today), it did not address Iran's regional proxy activities, some restrictions would expire ("sunset clauses"), and officials claimed Iran violated the "spirit" of the agreement even if it was technically complying with the nuclear provisions.

After the U.S. withdrew and reimposed sanctions, Iran initially continued complying for about a year, then gradually exceeded the deal's limits beginning in 2019.

I would love if we could get a better deal, but unfortunately, I live in the real world and don't just blindly trust everything Trump says.

If Trump had "all the leverage" we wouldn''t be handing them $300 BILLION in exchange for anything. And that's on top of the sanctions relief and oil sales they're getting right now.

Thanks to Trump's unbelievable stupidly, Iran has discovered they have a weapon far more powerful than a nuclear arsenal. They can cripple the world economy any time they want and no one can do anything about it absent a bloody invasion. Trump is the one desperate to save face before the midterms, and Iran is throwing him a lifeline in exchange for making all of their dreams come true.
