Well said Newt!

Stop condescending to our ally Ukraine while coddling Putin.

However supportable Israel's war with Hamas is (and it is highly supportable), our direct interests are served equally well by fully supporting Ukraine in their stand against unilateral Russian aggression.

Flu shot has never been fully tested (ie clinical trial) and licensed for vaccination of pregnant women.

Naaaaaah............ the FDA, Big Pharma and our medical establishment assured us otherwise. #Nappy, I bet we can lobby for you to get one for free this year.

I have a feeling if you or our resident trans-haters had a gay or trans kid, you'd have a much different take on this topic. Like I've mentioned on here before, we have close friends with non-binary (and possibly trans) middle school kid. This kid was in our Y-Guides tribe (prior to starting to openly work through identity issues). Great family. Dad was a Big East track athlete. Not rad-lib. Not political. Not TDS'ers. Just a normal family, three kids. Lots of camping trips, Seagull, Seafarer, Rockmont, all the things. Really sweet and thoughtful and normal folks.

Having an LGBTQ kid is extremely stressful for the family to navigate because of the obvious challenge of helping your kid navigate a fundamental issue, and also due to the fear of bullying and isolation and resultant potential self-harm.

This appears to be a purely voluntary gathering intended to support LGBTQ students and and to help avoid LGBTQ students feeling alone, prompted or encouraged partially by the recent suicide of a bullied LGBTQ student.

No events like this should be required for students (nor would I imagine they would be in today's obviously divided poltiical climate) but we also shouldn't let LGBTQ students feel like pariah, like their identity is something they need to keep secret and never discussed.

What's wrong with occasional and purely voluntary, opt-in type supportive events for the LGBTQ school community?

My GodSon is gay and married another dude this summer. Brought his husband to our huge family event. We dealt with it, my GodSon is a good man -29ish now - educated - etc. Still, its the wrong direction and we sure as hell shouldn't be pushing this agenda in our schools. Grow up in California and attend an Ivy League school for further brainwashing and you get a gay liberal pulling for Antifa. Yep, my GodSon. Too much damn Soy!

As with all sin, we are called to repent. Ultimately, we are sinners; however, our goal is recognize those sins and do everything to not act on them. That said…

John 8:7 - I paraphrase, he who is without sin can cast the first stone. He then said, go and leave your life of sin.

Again, we are all sinners; however, we don't have to act on our sin.

Thanks for the reminder of why church attendance has been plummeting for decades.

Yes, the Devil is an evil one. He works on the best of us…

Seems to be a dichotomy out there. The churches with plummeting attendance are the ones who've gone modernist, while the traditional churches seem to be undergoing a revival of sorts.

I disagree somewhat , I think the revival is in churches that teach out of the Bible. These show churches that don't teach but instead are more interested in making you feel good are the ones losing attendance.

We had a great sermon on Sunday on Timothy 2 and pastor Zeb spoke upon this very topic.

Not in so many words, but I thought that is what I said. Meant, in any case.

i probably see modernist differently than you. You can be more modernist but still do the teaching right.

Yes, you can have a praise band, playing today's Christian music and teach the truth that is the Bible.

And no… that's not Christian Nationalism at all. It's a foundational view that God is the creator of all things that sent Jesus (the Son and perfect embodiment of God) to provide others, even to this day, an example of how we should strive to be every day.

I personally do not want to push a Christian life on others. That said, I will show how my relationship, with Christ, has allowed me to be more like him. Then, a person can choose to do what they want with it. Most Christians I know, do not push their faith on another person; however, they will express the greatness God has to offer. Again, every person has to be responsible for their own relationship…

I think the modernist movement has a different meaning than what you are describing and what I've just stated.

The problem is that the people most likely to say things like that are the ones who usually act the least Christ-like in public. The Water Cooler is a perfect example... this place is packed to the ceiling with vile contempt. Could you imagine Jesus hanging out here trashing "trannies" and feasting on librul tears? Could you imagine Jesus as a Fox News guest talking about how amazing Trump is? Obviously the idea is laughable to most people.

So what's a "MAGA Christian" to do when "but that doesn't count, we're all sinners!" stops working to justify the increasingly cartoonish hypocrisy? A "Charlie Kirk revival"!!! Just focus that "own the libs" energy, harness an arsenal of debate tricks, and presto! Now empathy is a sin and retribution is a virtue! Jesus was MAGA after all, we were just reading the bible all wrong! Full steam ahead with the "Christian" revolution!

The left hates religion. You trying to guilt trip others using religion is laughable.

Which is why they also hate the Constitution which was made for a moral and religious people.

Ukraine can not win a war with Russia without boots on the ground. The money we give them, a lot of it is stolen away in corruption. The military equipment, they must be trained on and we pay for that too. Their own citizens don't want to fight. They rather disco the night away or better yet go to another country and leave that third world sh*thole behind.

So, are ready to send your kids? Your nephews? Your neighbors kids? You want to go off and win the war because Putin bad…Trump bad….get Trump….okay, but it's not going to be pretty. Be careful what you're asking for.

Crazy how the left hates our government/police/law enforcement/military protecting citizens on our soil but they want to send our troops to die protecting Ukraine.

Cool story! Your Russian propaganda is getting so fluent!

Aside from training and some small percentage of inevitable corruption, if anything you just said were true, Russia would be bulldozing their way to Kiev as we speak. But they aren't. Out here in actual reality the Ukrainians are fighting valiantly for their country, and have basically reinvented modern warfare on the cheap. They can keep this up a lot longer than Russia can... sooner or later Russia will go broke and have to withdraw.

At the end of Biden's term Russia was basically on it's last leg, even funneling in North Koreans to help. If we'd simply kept the existing strategy in place the war would probably be over already. Instead Trump raced in and threw Putin the mother of all life lines, essentially announcing to NATO that we're no longer taking sides (or are we?). Russia is still the only country on Earth with ZERO Trump tariffs on it. Isn't that just the strangest thing?

Yeah man, Putin is bad. Why do you and so many others seem so eager to sugarcoat this?

You like to talk about the costs of supporting Ukraine but what are the costs of watching an authoritarian regime's aggression go unchecked and trying to change the border of a sovereign nation by force? Why would we not stand with a Western ally and democratic nation under threat? What message would abandoning Ukraine send to China, Iran, and North Korea?

The US and the West's efforts to date have already signficantly reduced Russia's ability to project power. Ukraine doesn't need to win the war, they just need to continue fighting Russia to nominally better than a stalemate, and they're absolutely doing that. Russia has been in an economically and militarily compromised position for years and barring an incredibly stupid and shortsighted abandonment of Ukraine by the West, Russia's position will continue to weaken over time.

Now, if only there was something we could do from afar, with our Western allies, to apply significant economic pressure on Russia...

A new report coming out today from DHS. FEMA was making a blacklist of people in need if they had MAGA signs, 2nd Amendment stickers, firearms, religiousness, and other Conservative material. They were making written notes to not go to this or that household because of stuff like this. As soon as I have a link I will post it, but it's coming out. Glenn Beck is talking about it right now. He just said it's a betrayal of the citizen by the State. He is absolutely right.

They're somewhat suspicious, so we murder them first and ask questions later (or maybe not at all?).

Taking action against pirates capturing and enslaving American crews is clearly a much different scenario than us blowing up civilian boats that pose no immediate, direct risk to America or Americans because *we think* they may be drug runners. Even if they're guilty of being drug runners, when did that become a capital offense? And most importantly, we don't even know they're drug runners unless we capture them and collect evidence!

Those clear differences aside, Jefferson eventually sought and got congressional approval and funding for his Barbary military actions.

When can we expect Trump to do the same for these military actions?

Well said, Rand.

I like him most of the time, but I feel he's leaving out important context. Speed boats just off Miami are well within our 12 mile limit. Speedboats heading for open sea in international waters are a lot more suspicious than sailing craft generally operating in coastal waters. As for declared wars and Constitutional matters, I've mentioned before about Jefferson's undeclared actions against the Barbary States and Paul seems to be ignoring historical precedents such as that.

Has this actually happened?

Jefferson only approached Congress at a certain threshold when he wanted to expand operations against the ruler of Tripoli. I don't know that the scale of current naval operations against these drug runners has come to that level yet.

Well said Newt!

Stop condescending to our ally Ukraine while coddling Putin.

However supportable Israel's war with Hamas is (and it is highly supportable), our direct interests are served equally well by fully supporting Ukraine in their stand against unilateral Russian aggression.

So just keep doing what we're doing and the war goes on forever? No thanks. Are you willing to send your kids (troops) over there and end this? Yes or no?

You're acting like sending troops is even on the table. It's not, nor is there any indication it will be.

Yes, keep degrading Russia from afar, with no boots on the ground, and within some reasonable budget. Also, ratchet up the economic pressure on Russia. Why would the war go on forever if Russia doesn't have unlimited troops, weapons, or money?

And if you want to pinch pennies and pearl-clutch over money spent on keeping a clear foreign adversary at bay, and protecting democracy and Western institutions around the world, try not writing $20 billion checks to bail out your good buddy.

If we've got $20 billion to prop up Argentina (with all their mismanagement and waste you hate so much), we've got the money to do our pro-rata part to degrade an authoritarian adversary and support Ukraine.

It's hilarious that civ says he doesn't have TDS. Dude is a nut job that cries constantly about everything Trump does. Today he is outraged about drug runners and Russia! Lol. Always something.

Also, the hypocrite has no comment on the Nazi his party is supporting nor the Attorney General wishing death upon his opponents children. Definitely not a good look for the pretendipendent. it's bot-like, cult-like, sheep.

Lol, and today you're outraged about, what us it? The Nazi that Dems are supporting? An AG wishing death on chidren? Always something, almost always stupid.

You sure you don't have CDS? Maybe instead of bawling nonstop about Civ, one of the few guys trying to walk you lunatics back from the ledge, why don't you just respond to his comments? Are your talking points so stupid that you just can't?
