#Sieve, do You mean like this?

I have a feeling if you or our resident trans-haters had a gay or trans kid, you'd have a much different take on this topic. Like I've mentioned on here before, we have close friends with non-binary (and possibly trans) middle school kid. This kid was in our Y-Guides tribe (prior to starting to openly work through identity issues). Great family. Dad was a Big East track athlete. Not rad-lib. Not political. Not TDS'ers. Just a normal family, three kids. Lots of camping trips, Seagull, Seafarer, Rockmont, all the things. Really sweet and thoughtful and normal folks.

Having an LGBTQ kid is extremely stressful for the family to navigate because of the obvious challenge of helping your kid navigate a fundamental issue, and also due to the fear of bullying and isolation and resultant potential self-harm.

This appears to be a purely voluntary gathering intended to support LGBTQ students and and to help avoid LGBTQ students feeling alone, prompted or encouraged partially by the recent suicide of a bullied LGBTQ student.

No events like this should be required for students (nor would I imagine they would be in today's obviously divided poltiical climate) but we also shouldn't let LGBTQ students feel like pariah, like their identity is something they need to keep secret and never discussed.

What's wrong with occasional and purely voluntary, opt-in type supportive events for the LGBTQ school community?

My GodSon is gay and married another dude this summer. Brought his husband to our huge family event. We dealt with it, my GodSon is a good man -29ish now - educated - etc. Still, its the wrong direction and we sure as hell shouldn't be pushing this agenda in our schools. Grow up in California and attend an Ivy League school for further brainwashing and you get a gay liberal pulling for Antifa. Yep, my GodSon. Too much damn Soy!

As with all sin, we are called to repent. Ultimately, we are sinners; however, our goal is recognize those sins and do everything to not act on them. That saidโ€ฆ

John 8:7 - I paraphrase, he who is without sin can cast the first stone. He then said, go and leave your life of sin.

Again, we are all sinners; however, we don't have to act on our sin.

Thanks for the reminder of why church attendance has been plummeting for decades.

And #Sieve, rhe open borders and outrage at killing these drug traffickers does more than fall on deaf ears with me. Families in this country have had enough of you people's bull****; you have no idea what losses others have experienced with your pussified approach to protecting our children and grandchildren....you have no ****ing idea!

I agree. I don't care one bit about the due process of drug runners. Kill them all. Make it a job no one wants.

Seems to be a dichotomy out there. The churches with plummeting attendance are the ones who've gone modernist, while the traditional churches seem to be undergoing a revival of sorts.
