Hokie's Republican Party…
https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/04/10/congress/mike-johnson-spending-cuts-blood-oath-00283661
BTW, this is over 10 years. Continues the 2T per year deficit.
Wildly irresponsible for anyone who claims to take fiscal issues seriously.
We are nearing a tipping point. Treasury yields continuing to increase is a giant warning sign. We are paying an increasing rate on an already massive debt load
That's the Globalist Republican Party for you…
This is Trump. This is MAGA.
Perhaps it's Trump as well… we will see. Remember, 37T debt and 2T deficit isn't Trump and MAGA alone…. For you to say that speaks more to TDS than anything.
You've made it more than clear that macroeconomics isn't your strong suit, so do your best with what I'm about to say...
The entire global economy, and our ability to relatively easily manage our debt, rests on the assumption that U.S. Treasuries are the ultimate safe haven for cash on the planet (something that took us decades to build). The bond market has begun to signal that Trump's Mad King bullsh** may actually be rapidly calling that into question.
As soon as that happens, which could be soon if he keeps this crap up, you'll long for the days when you could wring your hands over the debt.
"As soon as that happens"…. "Which could be soon"…. "You'll long for the day"…..and we'll come running to Smapty to beg forgiveness, telling how right you were!1 You'll see11! YOU'LL SEE!!!!
Keep hoping for the worst. Keep pushing for the doom and gloom l.
Lol, it took Trump a week to come running to the bond market begging for forgiveness. Stay tuned for him to rapidly find a way out of the rest of the tariffs, too. Unless his goal really is to implode this country and run off with all of his bitcoins or something.
What MAGA knuckle-draggers don't understand is the paradox of American power. You want Trump to flex American power to extort and abuse everyone because you think they all need
us, but American power is 100% reliant on 80 years of everyone thinking we're the most stable country on the planet. Trump is now the poster boy for unstable.
Every economics textbook says that 30 year bond yields should be going down... instead they are skyrocketing. At the same time the dollar is plummeting. I won't get into the details, because as we know, you're a moron, but last week before Trump backtracked the financial plumbing that undergirds the bond market was rapidly approaching the 2008 economic Armageddon that led to the kajillion dollar bailouts. And we're not out of the woods yet... it's not clear that you can get credibility back once it's lost.
Anyway, don't take my word for it... keep an eye on 30 year yields and the US Dollar. If they keep doing what they're doing right now then... umm, yeah.
EDIT: Lol, while I was typing this Trump just carved a huge chunk out of his China tariff for the tech sector.
