Was just getting ready to post this. They are here illegally and are trouble. The Trump administration told the judge to pound sand and that is a good thing.Werewolf said:
Does this spell it out adequately for you, #Nappy?Yesterday, DC District Judge James Boasberg ordered a halt on deportation flights of Venezuelan TDA gang members being removed under the Alien Enemies Act (1798).

They landed in El Salvador last night to be kept in a max security prison.
Trump’s most consequential decision yet. pic.twitter.com/qlT5DK4nxJ
I wish I knew what laws are on the books that gives this judge the capacity for such a ruling. Perhaps, the laws are there and if so, the Pubs need to address them immediately.Oldsouljer said:
By issuing such not well grounded rulings, this judge is endangering the judicial branch by inviting increased contempt for it, and inadvertently adding to Trump's support. Very hazardous in the long run for the Republican and the rule of law
Whether or not the people being deported were scumbags, Trump is trying to use a law from the 1700s that applies to wartime. What's not "well-grounded" about the ruling?Oldsouljer said:

Just because you guys want everyone rounded up without due process doesn't mean it's legal. Just like everything else Trump is doing at the moment to ignore the constitution and seize power for the executive branch. You just don't care, the ends justify the means.
It's not the judicial branch who is threatening the rule of law, it's you.

Hilarious and scary that there are so many people out there trying to assert the judges analyzing and in some cases checking Trump's ability to implement legally spurious orders are the ones threatening the rule of law.
ACTIVIST JUDGES = judges that check Trump's power, no matter their party; which President appointed them; their judicial chops; or the legal basis of their ruling. All that matters is that they're not letting Trump do something he wants to do.
This ruling is also temporary, meant to allow a few days to appropriately study the situation and its legal merits. And if the temp ruling is upheld, there are appellate courts and the Supreme Court as backstops if the administration feels like the ruling is illegal or unconstitutional.
Trump and many Pubs are drunk on executive power, and sobriety seems a long ways off.
ETA: This is what happens when you convince yourself for years that Trump's lack of legal success either as the complainant or the defendant was due to the legal system and political climate being tilted against him, rather than the merits of his cases being tilted against him.
It must be jarring to see it continuing to happen when Trump and his party have all the consequential power. The only rational determination that can be made at that point is that Trump's cases, lack legal merit, a conclusion that many still evidently refuse to acknowledge.

At some point you're just out of bounds legally, and for most of Trump's shenanigans we're well past that point.

I think the Democrats should send a Congressional Delegation to the prison in El Salvador and demand these young men be released and brought back home to America.
If you haven't seen the video released by the President of El Salvador of the Venezuela and
MS-13 gang members arriving at the prison check it out. It's a must watch.
To go from roaming the United States committing theft, rape and murder at will and with no consequences to being incarcerated in that particular prison is going to be quite the change.

What evidence is there for that?
The judiciary has largely behaved as anyone would expect so far. In that they are following the law. No one of any repute would say that this decision was anything but expected.
The Trump admin has been pushing every angle they can to expand Executive power whether legal or illegal.

I think what Civ is saying is the attack on the institution of the Judiciary by normalizing calling these rulings as something done by an activist judge is the bigger issue.
