Fun fact:

J.D. Vance joined the Marines and went to Iraq, where he stayed for 6 months writing press releases in an air conditioned office. And then he left.

#profilesincourage
Was he in a position to where his life could be lost if a militant group or hostile group could launch a rocket and blow up his AC office?

GTFOH with that...

You are a POS.

This marine was the first female marine killed in Iraq. She was also a combat corespondent. The same rating (I think marine do ratings for job fields) as jd Vance. I was outside baqubah Iraq from Valentine's Day 04-may 05. The time frame he was there was during the surge (pretty sure walz unit was a part of the surge). My tiny little post less than a mile across in any direction (was actually shaped like a triangle FOB Scunion) was mortared and rocketed pretty much daily as were most American bases at that time. This time frame was when the Iraqis and insurgents were still fighting us and not the Iraqi government. So just cause home boy worked in an office doesn't mean he was safe. Hell two of my nine lives were lost due to a rocket and mortar attack on the fob. One being a dud mortar round landing literally in the door mat of my chu. And the other being a rocket detonating over our dining facility as I was in there eating. Had a piece of the rocket shoot through the roof and land in my tray ruining an already ****ty chicken meal.

Spare me. You guys are happy to swift boat Walz on command, a veteran with a distinguished 24-year career who secured bases in Europe that were very much under terrorist threat during the Afghanistan war. And yeah, literally the same strategist who trashed John Kerry's purple heart is working on Trump's staff now, and has been giving Vance his marching orders... dredged up a couple MAGA guardsmen and unleashed the bile, much to your glee. Pretty disgusting stuff.

Oh but I declaya, don't you daya mention that Vance is one of those "Yale Marines" who got him one of those cushy jobs as far from combat as possible so that he could put "Iraq War" on his resume!

What a bunch of demonic clowns.

The only threats in Europe was from hitting on Turk women. I was stationed in vilseck ga. And his unit were gate guards in Italy. There was no terrorist threat. They were there because all of us were in Iraq at the time.

If you go back to the Newsweek article you got the wrote press releases in an air conditioned office from… you'd see that his rating is a combat correspondent service in a marine public affairs wing. Little help it's like the second paragraph.

Public affairs is the 4300 series of marine mos. 4341 (Vance's mos) is combat correspondent. It is a part of the public affairs series. In the army the 13 series is field artillery. 13F is a fire support specialist. Him being a public affairs specialist is the same as me being an artillery man. In the army it's called my branch have no clue what it's called in the marines. But my job was a fister (fire support team member) whereas his job was as a combat correspondent. Thats like Walz was an artillery man but specifically his mos should have been 13Z. I don't think e8s and above keep their original mos with the skill identifier. For instance 13f private and most specialists will be 13f10. Some specs corporals and sgts will be 13F20. E6/7 will be 13F30 I think. Its a little wonky now that they've redone all the artillery mos.

Guys, don't engage with this idiot. He never served as a lot of you have and knows nothing of the military. Does not matter if you are in a combat zone or not, there is training that could cost you your life all the time.

I did not serve, but my father and brother are Marines who have passed. My father-in-law was also a Marine and an aide to Chesty Puller and was in the Chosin Reservoir with him. Both of those guys fought in two wars before me or my wife were conceived. My whole family would not exist had either one been mortally wounded in combat or in training.

Don't argue with a smug idiot know it all who knows nothing of service to his country.

He just said an American who volunteered to serve in the USMC, that went through Basic Training for the USMC, is not a "soldier."

That is who he is. He just spat in the face of a veteran of the USMC.

I dare him to roll down to Ruby Tuesday's in Jacksonville at 1 p.m. on a Wednesday afternoon and spout that nonsense.....

He's actually right. Someone who went to Parris island is not a soldier. He's a marine. Now the guys that went through Pendleton(?) or whatever the west coast boot camp is. Yeah. Those Hollywood marines might be considered soldiers. Just don't tell that to a marine.

I know you guys were very concerned about Biden's mental health, so any thoughts on this raving lunacy?

I still am worried about Biden and Harris mental health. As for Trump and the press conference, yep he had a slip. I know I do on occasion and probably you do as well. Back to Trump, considering he handled a live press conference for 75 minutes w/o notes and a teleprompter from many of the not so friendly press corps - I'll take that any day of the week. As for Harris, can you share any snippets of her news conference?

By the way, can we talk about this bonkers press conference yesterday.

He's never met Willie Brown. He was on that helicopter with Jerry Brown, a white guy. And the helicopter landed normally, no emergency. What the fu** is he talking about? Seriously, this doesn't even sound like a lie. It sounds like he's completely delusional.

He confused Willie Brown with another California politician.

Lol, that was a "slip"? Explains a lot.

The only reason Trump gave a press conference was in a desperate attempt to slow Harris's momentum and get the attention back on him.

So he confused being in the helicopter crash with another black guy and he confused talking with Jerry Brown (a white guy) and Willie Brown, who he's never met, all in one statement?

And you want that guy running the country?

Super/Smarpty is nothing but a message board troll.

He will lose teeth again.

He's actually right. Someone who went to Parris island is not a soldier. He's a marine. Now the guys that went through Pendleton(?) or whatever the west coast boot camp is. Yeah. Those Hollywood marines might be considered soldiers. Just don't tell that to a marine.
Camp Lejuene and Paris Island... you go through there.... There is nothing I can question about you, your character or your resiliance.

To denigrate that.... welll... it says more about the person talking.

I don't think he is worth the sweat it took to make him.

I'd meet him at Pullen Park tomorrow morning.
I noticed that Raleigh very quietly stopped calling it Pullen-Dix Park. :B

Call it what you want to, but that happens to most everyone on occasion. I am thankful that you have never experienced anything like it. Again, I'm waiting on Harris news conference clips that I asked you about?!? Thanks in advance!
