This thread is full of Trump lies.

There are 8 charging stations. Not 7.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/buttigieg-defends-bidens-ev-strategy-after-question-how-only-8-federal-charging-stations-have-been-built

Be careful. The local Biden campaign manager is going to come on this thread with a carefully worded statement. โ€ฆ.
he claims it's because they changed the plug standard but that doesn't stop you from building the charging station, just change the plug when the standard changes.

The two issues is the power isn't there to build 1/ 2 million charging stations and I'm sure federal regulations on environment are holding up much of this infrastructure work.

Fair point. I'm sure they wanted to avoid the hassle/expense of having to swap out the plug for a half-million chargers just to get an extra year or two of use out of them, but I agree that most of the delay was probably driven by local power infrastructure issues that take time to iron out.

Either way, the "bIdEn SuX hE ONly buILt 7 cHARGers!" crowd are partisan dunces as usual.

Cool story. The pier was damaged soon after coming online by rough weather and several vessels came unmoored. It'll be fine, assuming Hamas and the Israelis will let any actual aid reach the starving civilians.

It is egregious that you think the Israelis are denying any humanitarian efforts into Gaza. First, they have zero responsibility to provide aid to Palestine. They were attacked by Hamas, and the Hamas effort is supported by an overwhelming amount of support from the Palestine people.

What other country in the world is expected as part of their war plan to aid in the comfort and safety of their enemy? This double standard is absurd.

The pier was poorly planned and a stupid idea. The fact that it was damaged as soon as it came online should show you how poorly planned not only this pier was, but the response by the Biden Administration since October 7th. It has been muddled and confusing and down right pitiful. Israel should be treated like an ally, instead Biden and his administration have put politics in front of common sense. You excusing that by basically saying "Oh well, what could we have done?" with this dumb pier idea that wasted $320M just to prove what everyone knew is unsurprising from you.

What is surprising is you swallowing the progressive narrative that Israel is responsible for the starving and the plight of the Palestinian people. It just isn't true.

So it's egregious to think the Israelis are denying any humanitarian efforts into Gaza, but it's also absurd that they should stop dropping a single bomb to let aid through? Which is it?

I dunno man. Hamas justifies butchering Israeli civilians by saying there's no such thing as an innocent Israeli civilian. You're sounding a lot like Hamas.

You're clearly pretty radicalized on this topic, so I don't expect you to understand that Biden is trying to manage an entire region, not just Israel. Appearing to aid Palestinian kids is in fact important to our national security in the region, not just arming Israel and looking the other way. And Biden didn't plan the pier, the U.S. Navy did... take it up with them.

I also don't expect you to understand how profoundly f'd up Israeli politics are at the moment, with a rogue Netanyahu making this situation far worse than it needs to be for his own personal benefit. Biden is doing all he can, but it's wildly complicated, which of course makes it easy for guys like you to nitpick from the sidelines to score political points.

Anyway, watching Congressional Republicans deny Israeli military aid for months on end (almost permanently if not for Biden's maneuvering) must have been so infuriating to you that you've sworn off ever voting for another Republican. Just kidding! That's clearly not how this works.

Is that a joke?

Our military is the mightiest in the world but you don't have to look hard to find operational or strategic issues, big and small, at every turn.

Coincidentally my uncle was a two-tour SeaBee in Vietnam surveying for bridge, road, and landing strip construction. Gave him his future life's work (after discharge opened and operated a survey firm in eastern NC for decades until my cousin took it over) but man his stories about the war and his experiences and their infrastructure construction challenges over there...

You're missing the symbolism. What else better reflects Biden and his Build Back Better mantra than building a pier that collapses almost immediately. Why we have piers built by jacklegs for a lot less money that have held up to hurricanes for decades. His pier couldn't stand a few waves.

That's been going on for over a decade. Hell shaarps was started while I was in I think. And yes military competency has dropped. Or have you forgotten all the ships our navy have run into lately due to poor training and standards for bridge watches? They aren't the only thing that have had to deprioritize training requirements away from job training. I know guys who have had years where they never went to a range because of all the dumb non mission essential stuff that checks someone's OER for promotion. It's funny, W really owes Trump big time for salvaging his place in history... he went from being a doofus who let Cheney and the Funky Bunch run the country for him to an elder statesman in the eyes of Dems. Sometimes it's useful in life to be reminded things can always be a lot worse.

W is like that. He seemed like a dude who would be a great next-door neighbor to smoke a pig and drink some beers on your deck with, not someone that seemed presidential. He wasn't an orator, and he didn't seem like he exactly had a raw acumen befitting the leader of the free world.

That is, until Trump came along and made W's respect for democracy and for the office, respect for and by our allies, adherence to norms, actual attempts to govern, ability to think and communicate cogently, and interpersonal skills seem otherworldly by comparison.

W is a lot like Biden to me - second-stringer, but a good dude and one that you never heard anyone that had worked with him say bad things about personally.

If you polled Dems and asked them, who would you rather have as our next President, W or Trump, basically everyone would say W. No comparison. Obviously.

The irony of saying someone does not respect democracy while their party is trying to create a banana republic is laughable. Thinking Biden being a "good dude" is remotely enough to be president... also trying to drive a bull**** narrative that nobody has bad things to say about him personally. His own daughter does. lol.

Trump was respected by and had respect for our allies, and our enemies. Only when the weak President came into office did the world go to war. Our enemies and allies respected the power of the oval office with Trump... but mean tweets trigger lefties I guess. I think the "respect" narrative emphasizes the derangement of people like civ.

Even more hilarious saying Trump could not think or communicate cogently. Its another one of the bold face lies. Its especially moronic when you compare the 2 candidates today knowing that civ is proudly voting Biden. Hypocrisy knows no end with this guy.

Absolutely, the last good one, Harry S. Truman and the last decent one JFK, were OK. Carter doesn't seem to have been corrupt, just not very effective. The last three have been moral basket cases.
