Not in mine either. He would not be getting my vote if he were though.

A person can come from money and not be elite! I think what Bo is saying that Yale showed him what an elite really is.Ellesdad said:WarrenPeace said:Glasswolf said:

I've voted for plenty of Democrats and Republicans in my life, so I think I'm pretty open to most candidates. But I'd never vote for someone that's never had a job before and lives off family money.
And shame on him for playing up his dislike of elites. Kid left State to go to Yale so he could get into politics. But now part of his pitch is he played football at State and hates elites.
Hokie, hopefully you read the "Club for Growth" platform. They endorsed Bo. BTW, I have a few issues with their platform.hokiewolf said:Populist republicans would be the actual termPackDaddy said:

I'm sorry, but I just can't help but LOL at this. Bo didn't know what Yale was before he went?caryking said:A person can come from money and not be elite! I think what Bo is saying that Yale showed him what an elite really is.Ellesdad said:WarrenPeace said:Glasswolf said:

Folks, all anybody can do is vote based on what you hear from a new candidate. Once the new candidate gets in office, they have a record. His platform is very much in line with me!
I'm sorry, but I just can't help but LOL at you. Do you think only "elites" attend Ivy League Schools? Do you think that the only ones that attend Ivy League Schools attended private boarding schools, spent summers in the Hamptons and had 24/7 servants at their beckon call?metcalfmafia said:I'm sorry, but I just can't help but LOL at this. Typical elitist, smug, condescending attitude of a lefty. What you and your ilk don't know you damn sure pretend that the rest of us are too stupid to realize you are full of *****
Calling you and your MARXIST PARTY out for what you are always feels good. Notice there wasn't any denying my statement. Yep. What's to stop the Dems from handing out "conservative judges" brochures that instead list the liberal judges... same thing with school board members. Have to do the research and most people probably aren't going to unfortunately...wolf howl said:
I did go out and vote yesterday and prior to making my choices, I did do research on every candidate to find the best fit. iVoterGuide was a good resource for this, especially their questionnaire for each candidate so you could compare responses. A couple of candidates I thought were who I wanted turned out to not be at all. This resource also tells you where they went to school, lived, etc. which I think is important as well if you want people with your shared beliefs representing you.
Plenty of "Republicans" were on the ticket who clearly are not conservatives, local to NC or likely have the best interests in mind. Not saying Bo is that, as he wasn't on my ticket, but definitely saw more of that than I expected.
Agreed. And even the questionnaires can be faked or answered however to appeal to the target demographic/party. The local elections like school board, commissioners, etc are even harder to research and see how it fits into your moral compass unfortunately, certainly doesn't feel good basing it on their implied party affiliation on the ballot.TheStorm said:Yep. - my original post was back in december when Bo announced he was running for the 5th district against Virginia Foxx....and he district shopped to the 13th so he would have a better chance to win after getting Trumps support.caryking said:What kind of person says those type of things? mdr, be better than that! You can disagree with one's politics and be polite. I think most, on here, want you as one of us; however, you're making it difficult…

-since yall are so quick to label everyone on this message board, ill let you know i despise all politicans and ive only voted in one election and that was the 2020, hell ill even tell you who i voted for on my ballot, Trump, Dan Forest, Mark Robinson, and Steve Troxler
I'm on this forum more than i like to admit, and i have to agree with with Metcalf and Hokie, the vitriolic name calling just hinders the debate that can be had
so i'm being polite, can yall?
Bo Hines, a Republican gun extremist running for Congress in North Carolina, seems to think the phrase “banana republic” refers to the clothing store.

Kid went to Yale and Wake, lives off a trust fund, never had a job, and thinks he's qualified to represent a district he's never lived in. Unbelievable.
Agreed, but that's not a choice to be enthusiastic about. Hines beat five of six primary challengers that I regard as worse than he, Kent Keirsey would have been the best choice but he was one of the underfunded, bottom of the ballot losers. No chance. Barbour is a wealthy ncgop activist but not sure he's from the right side of the Party. Daughtry, the runner up, had question marks as well, though I found her attack ads against Hines to pretty much be in synch with the opinions of his detractors on this thread.Ripper said:

Are you sure you're not getting Daughtry and Barbour mixed up? Daughtry was the one that dropped millions of her family money into the race. Barbour ran with a fraction of the cash-on-hand that Daughtry and Hines deployed.Oldsouljer said:Agreed, but that's not a choice to be enthusiastic about.
