I can remember when North Carolina had a democratic drawn district from Greensboro all the way to Charlotte that mostly followed the old I-85 route but jumped into East Greensboro, East High Point, etc. just to ensure that a democrat could win in areas where they normally couldn't. Melvin Watt was the representative from there for some long period of time, IIRC. But I guess that's not considered gerrymandering, right?

I believe that district was quite literally the picture in the dictionary beside the word gerrymander.

In modern times, this district photo is featured 2x on the wiki page about gerrymandering in the US.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrymandering_in_the_United_States

(N.b., wiki is using a revised version of the district map and not even the worst.)

To the lefties that is "representation."

When Conservatives draw up districts it is evil, racist and voter suppression. And yet they claim the moral high ground on every damn issue. The hypocrisy is so obvious and the ones that vote for these clowns are lazy. Too lazy to think for themselves.

I think it was absolutely considered gerrymandering.....but, to your point I think the opinion on gerrymandering is directly proportional to who's doing it. (the opinion of politicians AND the mainstream media).

Like I said, the hypocrisy on the left is appalling and their supporters are insufferable.

Gerrymandering has been a thing both parties engaged in for a long time. However, in 2010 and going forward, the voter data available was much better than in the past. At least some states used software to model out the most advantageous ways to redistrict.

IDK, the solution but IMO each state should have some type of non-partisan way to do the allocation. I'm not interested in currently elected politicians thumbing the scale in their favor, no matter who it is.

Not surprising -

"Certainly, if it's a Biden or Harris administration, honestly, there is no way, there is no way a British parliament right now would vote for military cooperation with America led by this administration."

Can't star that enough. To act like both sides don't do this is either naive or stupid.

Competitive districts are a good thing for all involved. It'll spawn better candidates for all, not just the candidates who pander hardest to their base.

Well... here you go. I'm not sure who is charge of these photo-ops but after one or 10 incidents like this the "duck phrase" comes to mind..."if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..."

What say you comrades? You piss and moan about me calling you SOCIALISTS so I stopped. I began calling you and your party for what it really is. MARXISTS/COMMUNISTS. Now here is Horizontal "Cackling Hyena" Harris standing in front of a statue of Ho Chi Minh with the commie flags behind her.

"Quack Quack" comrades. "Quack Quack."

For those of you who aren't familiar with Ho Chi Minh I included a footnote from Wikipedia and credited my source.

Sorry it's more than 5 paragraphs. Maybe it can be read over the course of a few days!

H Ch Minh led the Vit Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the Communist-ruled Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at the Battle of in Bin Ph, ending the First Indochina War. He was a key figure in the People's Army of Vietnam and the Vit Cng during the Vietnam War, which lasted from 1955 to 1975. - Wikipedia

That makes a ton of sense - I'm certainly not defending it, its a crappy practice. Maybe, to your point, having data availability and transparency, will one day result in better creation of these districts.

What more data do you want?

What more data do you need to see in order to divide the districts?

Look at what New York is about to do to their State Districts. They have a plan in place to eliminate at least one if not three GOP held seats in the name of "equity."

https://www.thecity.nyc/politics/2021/8/11/22620898/new-york-redistricting-explained

That's just one example if you want more look it up.

Again, what more information is going to lead to one party not squeezing the other? The left is the party that started this decades ago. Originally the districts were divided by where you live and population. The left screamed that it was not fair to minorities because they lived in areas dominated by whites. So the left began the process of "equal representation" along political lines.

Now that the GOP is doing the same guess what? Lefties call "foul" on a plan/program that they invented. You lefties really should step back every now and again and think about your moral conscious. If you have one.

You think Bride of Chucky is going to "circle back" on here statement that "NO AMERICAN IS STRANDED?"

Or will she keep spouting off lies that you lefties slurp up like water? Jeez... at least make up stuff that isn't refuted instantly after saying it.

God help all of these Americans, Afghans and other Foreign Nationals that this administration has left in peril just to have a photo op on September 11th.

I'm guessing the word "stuck" is a euphemism for "stranded?" What say you comrades? I don't speak MARXIST/COMMUNIST lingo.

Many people have family there. You can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. I'm certain they didn't think Sleepy Joe would abandon them. Well... he did.

But he doesn't tweet, isn't a con man and I finished this post in under 5 paragraphs. Winning.

Only thing I can think of would be family ties. Other than that, and maybe mining jobs (given the safety...no way!!), I can't think of a reason. I'd guess many of the American citizens there didn't grow up in 7th generation eastern NC'inians.

August 19 quote from Sleepy Joe Biden.

"Biden says 'no one's being killed' in Afghanistan, can't 'recall' advisers telling him to delay withdrawal

Report says top generals told Biden to leave troops in Afghanistan, Biden says he doesn't remember"

What do you have to say today Mr. Biden?? The time has come to take off the gloves & tell the Taliban & it's allies to get out of the way or be prepared to meet Allah very soon.

If you can't come up with something worthwhile to say, I would suggest that you check out the comments of former Navy Seal Jocko Willink at the link below for some help:

If you don't have the balls to do this, you should tender your resignation as President immediately!

There are probably family members that live in my immediate area that no longer have a husband or father today... but at least Biden can keep claiming that he "made the right decision"...

They could have slowed the takeover by conducting airstrikes on the caravans back when the surge first started, instead of allowing our country to get caught with their pants down around their ankles.

Piss poor, pathetic show of leadership.

Taliban leadership may just want us gone, but I doubt they can really control all of their troops. Plus ISIS and other terrorist groups still have a presence.

A lot went wrong in Afghanistan over the years, but this "withdrawal" is a cherry on top of the steaming pile. I'm not sure it could have gone worse.

Prayers for the families and loved ones of those who have fallen and been wounded today. This entire operation has been handled so poorly from the top that you have to ask whether it's somehow intentional. Biden and his administration are completely to blame for this and they have Psaki out there calling it a success. Absolutely pathetic. Please, please grow a spine and do something useful about this now!

Taliban most certainly wants us gone, but this bombing appears to be ISIS not Taliban. All the credible intelligence leading up to the bombings centered on ISIS-K as the likely perpetrators.

ISIS thinks the Taliban ain't Sharia-ey enough.

Biden to speak at 5:00. He's late... probably should be hitting the mark on a day like this. Biden has to show he is control, whether he is or isn't.

Listen, I'm not a supporter of Biden; however, he has to step up to ease the people in the US. Right, now, my daughter works in NYC and my other daughter is on her way there. So, I'm not feeling very comfortable right now.

Somebody HAS to show strength!!!!
