I'm guessing the latter. It was bound to happen and I fully expect more of it to happen. You can't tell 78 million people that you are going to FUNDAMENTALLY change America so your side will get all they want and punish those that don't think like them for not agreeing. Remember the politicians calling for a "list of Trump supporters?" Well 78 million people do and like your Dear Leader Schumer said earlier today, "buckle up."
The statement was they were shooting "into the chamber." No...they were not. Some nut job, there are two sides there by the way, fired a weapon. Horrible tragedy. Funny...where was all of your concern during the BLM protests and the Antifa protests? You think your party is the only one who can peacefully protest? Last I checked there are a hell of a lot more dead due to BLM and Antifa than any right wing protests to date.ciscopack said:Check your sources; she's in critical condition.BBW12OG said:

I would just throw this out- I think with the proliferation of absentee ballots, the right may be in big trouble. All of a sudden you have legions of folks that, in the past, were too lazy to get off their asses and go vote who now basically have everything done for them short of filling out the ballots themselves. The Republicans are gonna have to get it figured out or they may not win a lot of elections going forward.
2. College is unfortunately a requirement for a large portion of jobs today. According to Forbes -
"The average cost of attending a four-year college or university in the United States rose by 497% between the 1985-86 and 2017-18 academic years, more than twice the rate of inflation.
The cost of attending a traditional four-year university has been rising more than twice as fast as inflation, and two-year community colleges a third faster."

College costs are out of control, and while in a perfect world there would be a way to reel in those expenditures, this is an easy way for the Government to pump money back into the economy. I don't believe most plans are to forgive all student loans, but those that have Federal loans will potentially see forgiveness of ~$50k. Yeah it sucks for those of us that paid our loans already, but I'd rather see improvement of people's lives that are being crushed by debt than just say "suck it up losers."

We could target relief much better than an arbitrary income level. There are millions of people getting stimulus who never lost their job, and are working from home. They actually have more money since they have not been able to spend it on entertainment due to lockdown. Average income levels right now are actually not much below pre-pandemic levels.
Relief should be largely through supplementing unemployment and for small businesses closed down by the pandemic, like bars and restaurants.
Second,
I will oppose college debt relief unless it comes with actual reform to reduce the price of college. Government backed loans are a direct cause of escalating tuition prices. Colleges have the perverse incentive to build and spend knowing they can make up the money through tuition as students still largely look at how nice their dorm is over the cost of college. In countries that offer free college, significantly less money is spent on facilities and administration.

You know what would really help drop the cost of college? The government stopping all of the underwriting. Colleges charge whatever they want because they know that the government will pay off the balance is the loan is defaulted on.IseWolf22 said:First,statefan91 said:1.
