False reporting on "shooting into the capital..." Keep reading your lefty twitter feeds. Very telling. The MSM and the lefty loons created this. Now deal with it. Years of insults, condescension, bullying finally has come to a point. Everyone has their breaking point and judging from the smug condescension by many of you on this thread you've never run up against someone that you pushed too far...or you're just wannabe internet badasses. I'm guessing the latter. It was bound to happen and I fully expect more of it to happen. You can't tell 78 million people that you are going to FUNDAMENTALLY change America so your side will get all they want and punish those that don't think like them for not agreeing. Remember the politicians calling for a "list of Trump supporters?" Well 78 million people do and like your Dear Leader Schumer said earlier today, "buckle up."
Check your sources; she's in critical condition.

The statement was they were shooting "into the chamber." No...they were not. Some nut job, there are two sides there by the way, fired a weapon. Horrible tragedy. Funny...where was all of your concern during the BLM protests and the Antifa protests? You think your party is the only one who can peacefully protest? Last I checked there are a hell of a lot more dead due to BLM and Antifa than any right wing protests to date.

They are the left most fringe.

If you engage with any moderate democrats who follow politics, they complain about and attack AOC only slightly less than Republicans. It's no different than the freedom caucus within the Republican party

Here's some advice lefties...don't tell 78 million people you are going to "fundamentally change America", have your politicians go on record demanding Trump supporters be put on a list, have your media machine denigrate, insult and bad mouth everyone that doesn't goose step in line with them and brag about it expecting them to lie down and take it. Like Schumer said this morning...."buckle up..." If anything he incited everything that is going on in the capital with that comment. I mean, if the roles were reversed the MSM would absolutely attribute that comment to the events if Trump had said them. So don't come on here all high and mighty claiming to be the party of peace and unity. This powder keg was started with Obama and Harry Reid.

This whole Covid relief thing really bothers me. If you're a business or individual that has been directly impacted financially by Covid then I get the help. But to arbitrarily hand out free money to everyone regardless of the circumstances is beyond insane. My son is a perfect example. He's never missed a day of work, never missed a paycheck but received stimulus checks. Why? And there's literally millions upon millions of Americans just like him. This money isn't free. It has to come from somewhere and at some point the bill is going to come due.

If we're going to forgive student debt then I want a reimbursement for paying for mine on time. Why should those who paid up be left out?

I like to think (hope) that the politicians mentioned in the article are the fringe element, just like the Republicans have some of their own. In the end you have to hope that rational thought wins out.

I would just throw this out- I think with the proliferation of absentee ballots, the right may be in big trouble. All of a sudden you have legions of folks that, in the past, were too lazy to get off their asses and go vote who now basically have everything done for them short of filling out the ballots themselves. The Republicans are gonna have to get it figured out or they may not win a lot of elections going forward.
1. The COVID relief is means tested, so it's not going to everyone. It's also diminished based on means so not everyone is getting $600 / $2000 / whatever.
2. College is unfortunately a requirement for a large portion of jobs today. According to Forbes -

"The average cost of attending a four-year college or university in the United States rose by 497% between the 1985-86 and 2017-18 academic years, more than twice the rate of inflation.

The cost of attending a traditional four-year university has been rising more than twice as fast as inflation, and two-year community colleges a third faster."

https://www.forbes.com/sites/zengernews/2020/08/31/college-tuition-is-rising-at-twice-the-inflation-rate-while-students-learn-at-home/?sh=50e90402f98c

College costs are out of control, and while in a perfect world there would be a way to reel in those expenditures, this is an easy way for the Government to pump money back into the economy. I don't believe most plans are to forgive all student loans, but those that have Federal loans will potentially see forgiveness of ~$50k. Yeah it sucks for those of us that paid our loans already, but I'd rather see improvement of people's lives that are being crushed by debt than just say "suck it up losers."

Absentee ballots are available in basically all states.
First,
We could target relief much better than an arbitrary income level. There are millions of people getting stimulus who never lost their job, and are working from home. They actually have more money since they have not been able to spend it on entertainment due to lockdown. Average income levels right now are actually not much below pre-pandemic levels.
Relief should be largely through supplementing unemployment and for small businesses closed down by the pandemic, like bars and restaurants.

Second,
I will oppose college debt relief unless it comes with actual reform to reduce the price of college. Government backed loans are a direct cause of escalating tuition prices. Colleges have the perverse incentive to build and spend knowing they can make up the money through tuition as students still largely look at how nice their dorm is over the cost of college. In countries that offer free college, significantly less money is spent on facilities and administration.

You know what would really help drop the cost of college? The government stopping all of the underwriting. Colleges charge whatever they want because they know that the government will pay off the balance is the loan is defaulted on.

If government stopped interfering in it that would help drop the cost of college

When did Liberals take over the word Progressive or when did Conservatives give Liberals that word??? My dad claimed Progressive and he was no Liberal;
At the turn of the 20th century, today's Democrat referred to themselves as Progressives. In fact Teddy Roosevelt ran as a Progressive (Bull Moose) Party against the Republican in 1912. Basically, he gave the election to Wilson by doing this.

Progressivism became not in Vogue and the term Liberal was adopted by the Democrats. Liberal really shouldn't be applied to Democrats of today. A classic liberal is what I really am. Most people that call themselves conservative are really classic liberals.

Take that crap and shove it. Wayne...GTFOH..... you freeloading chump. Nothing you have to say will contribute anything positive to this discussion. Bad people were involved today. Bad people exist on both sides. One side has already condemned it. Horizontal Harris contributed money to bail the left's bad people out of jail. Put that in your "holier than thou" pipe and smoke it.

There is video of her getting shot while trying to break into congressional chambers.

So she was shot by someone inside the congressional chambers? Wow.... now imagine if she'd been a BLM or Antifa minority protester what you and your left wing media leaders would be saying about it now. Considering she is white, possibly a Trump supporter and most likely a conservative.... she's the devil that deserved it. Prove me wrong big guy..prove me wrong.

I hope and pray every *********Trump supporter in this country is happy with what is happening at the capital now.

After blatantly stealing an election - and handing our nation over to the Chi-Coms
- after watching Antifa and BLM destroy our cities and viciously attack police officers and civilians alike for the better part of a year now.
- you should be grateful for anything short of full blown civil war.

Shed your crocodile tears elsewhere.

Exactly. He wasn't saying a damn word when they destroyed cities all over the country all summer long and then to come with this ***** Get out of here Glass! You punch us we punch back.
But...but...but....BLM and Antifa are all peaceful....they are misrepresented.
93% of all BLM protests were peaceful. (link)

And you keep saying 78m, Trump only received 74m votes. Biden received 81m, which is a 7m more.

Good heavens - I can't believe they're actually still claiming "peaceful protests".

Enough.
