This whole Covid relief thing really bothers me. If you're a business or individual that has been directly impacted financially by Covid then I get the help. But to arbitrarily hand out free money to everyone regardless of the circumstances is beyond insane. My son is a perfect example. He's never missed a day of work, never missed a paycheck but received stimulus checks. Why? And there's literally millions upon millions of Americans just like him. This money isn't free. It has to come from somewhere and at some point the bill is going to come due.
If we're going to forgive student debt then I want a reimbursement for paying for mine on time. Why should those who paid up be left out?
I like to think (hope) that the politicians mentioned in the article are the fringe element, just like the Republicans have some of their own. In the end you have to hope that rational thought wins out.
I would just throw this out- I think with the proliferation of absentee ballots, the right may be in big trouble. All of a sudden you have legions of folks that, in the past, were too lazy to get off their asses and go vote who now basically have everything done for them short of filling out the ballots themselves. The Republicans are gonna have to get it figured out or they may not win a lot of elections going forward.
ME TOO! I did not look at or read the article but I hope common sense rules. I demand Joe Biden hire good people who do their work well and are responsible to working for
everyone. I demand Joe be the overseer and every voice should be heard! Joe has a long history of compromise. It's a small earth these days; keep the US strong and work with others. Let others know there are human rules and human rules must be followed.
Fringe has a voice too but their way is too far out to become norm!!! Far left and far right have a voice, left and right have a voice and the center has a voice. I like the center and picking and choosing on different topics or being swayed some when I listen to others. Talk, listen, compromise! I want everyone to get along and for everyone in the end to pull the USA rope in the same direction with compromise and a talk and listening. I expect the majority to sway some things lightly; not too far or to the detriment of people towing the rope that did not vote for you!
I've cashed zero Covid checks and I understand some people need them; as some businesses do! I've seen some of the food lines ( I wondered what that was on N. Raleigh Blvd. until the 3rd pass by it and I figured it out) and those people have a car to get there. Some people work for those businesses! We've spent way more money in worse ways!
I don't think free college works but very, very low interest does...just enough to pay people and supplies to run things.
Every registered voter gets 1 vote and it should be documented well and voting from home is fine, just as many states realized long ago. Voting from home is just as good for the poor or medium income as it is the rich who have done so for a long while! 1 vote per registered voter and no more! Vote where you want and I've never sent in a ballot! I've voted early 3 times and I like it! I went 2 weeks before the election and in a room with about 50 booths; 5 or 6 of us were doing so at that time! 5 minutes total and gone. My 92 year old uncle with cancer sent his in; he's been voting a while and he flew a Royal typewriter for the US Air Force.
Let's get along and hold Joe to bringing this together and working to help everyone, as best as possible. Joe will listen! He wants to drive his 1967 Vette again and laugh with people who think he worked for them....all of them.
