I just wonder with Covid, racial unrest, police defunding....do you guys think all of this is going to drive a lot of folks to vote for Trump who wouldn't have otherwise?
Possibly - especially if those people have an inability to understand that the administration's lack of preparedness for COVID led them to our current economic environment; and the continued focus on militarization of police and seeming refusal to hold police accountable when they truly do wrong has led to continued unrest.
It always amazes me that people talk about the administration so negatively when it comes to covid and act like no one else had anything to do with it.
Back in January and February when Trump was trying to start things in regards to Covid you had people like Andrew Como, Bill Biblasio, and Nancy Pelosi calling him racist for trying to block travel from China. YOu even had Pelosi put out a video telling people to go to chinatown
The most deaths have been in democrat controlled areas, and the federal government has provided everything that the local governments asked for. You need ventilators....you got ventilators. The federal government sent navy medical ships to both New York and California to help out with sick people, but that resource was hardly used.
I think the problem here is a lack of understanding on how the federal government works. The federal government isn't suppose to just come in and take over....the State and Local governments are suppose to handle the situation and request help. What the states requested they got.
Here is the sad truth of it. The states with the most deaths per 100000 are below
- New Jersey - 180 per 100000
- New York - 180 per 100000
- Massachusetts - 132 per 100000
- Connecticut - 125 per 100000
- Louisiana - 108 per 100000
- Rhode Island - 100 per 100000
- DC - 86 per 100000
- Mississippi - 85 per 100000
- Arizona - 70 per 100000
- Michigan - 68 per 100000
7 out of the top 10 states (4 of the top 5) are ran by democrats - but according to most of you the people who actually run these states hold no responsibility for what is actually happening in their state with any of their decisions and I don't understand that.
All of the democrat governors all of a sudden believe in state's rights over federalism with Trump as president....until they can blame something like covid on them.
I see on social media all the time that Trump is responsible for the 180000 deaths from the coronavirus in this country. Its crazy to think that. The federal government provided the states with what they requested. Everything else is on the states. The individual governors of those states have controlled the policies within their states.
There is no critical thinking here with anything when it comes to Trump. All of your blame is automatically placed on him for anything bad that happens in this country,,,and its sad. The man is crass and has his faults but its pretty disingenuous to blame Trump for all of the bad that has happened because of covid.
Trump didn't create the policies that have lead to people dying of covid. The local governments are responsible for alot of it, but for some reason there is no blame laid at their feet. For instance Andrew Como, who is the governor of NY, ordered that nursing homes had to take people sick with covid. New York has 32579 deaths from covid, with the majority of the people who have died being in congregate facilities such as nursing homes.
You guys want to kill Trump over the handling of this and the death rate....but no one on this board has mentioned Como once....and Como is in the process of writing a book on how well he has managed the state through covid.
That's a joke man
