There are clear differences between trust and blind trust. Nobody here is advocating for blind trust of authority.
The irony of course is that you do the exact opposite and blindly distrust experts and science and uniformly adopt the anti-conventional science/expert stance. That's no more rigorous a position than blind trust.
It makes zero sense to rely exclusively on "doing your own research" when you can research and observe by proxy and rely on tremendously large data sets and trends to make a much better-informed decision.
There is no substitute for the volume and value of big data aggregation, and of practicing physicians' clinical experience. You can use your own experience (data set size of 1) and add to it some "research" on social media and forums like this. That may get your sample size up to 15, or 20, or 50.
That's half a day or two of seeing patients for a physicians. Multiply that times the 200-odd days they work a year, times all the physicians across the country. Massive data set from which to draw extremely pertinent information, and add to that the fact that physicians are trained and experienced to understand, contextualize, and communicate the nuance of their experiences.
Who would want to rely exclusively on "their own research" when we have access to the data and experiences of physicians on the front lines of this across the country/around the world?
You're so quick to defend everyone in the pro-vaxx camp who is toeing the line on the official covid narrative as "not blindly following authority".
But then you're so quick to accuse people like me of "blindly distrusting the experts and the science".
Painting with quite a broad brush there. Perhaps many in your camp
ARE blindly following the so-called "experts", CDC, and far Left commie Lamestream media and government Establishment complex. And perhaps people like me are
not "blindly" distrusting the so-called "experts" and Establishment. Perhaps we've done a lot of research on all sides, and come to a more informed knowledge/conclusion about these matters. Perhaps we distrust them in the light of an overwhelming amount of evidence that proves they are not worthy of trust.
The thing about so-called "conspiracy theorists" like myself is that at least we have looked at the other side of the issue. Probably 90% of those who toe the line with the Establishment have not even considered the other side of these arguments, and basically have only considered the official view.
Just face the elephant in the room here...there is something DEEPLY wrong with the Establishment institutions in this country, and the world -- big government, big Establishment media, academia, etc. They are wholly corrupt, and run by wicked people, at the highest levels of leadership. And that includes the medical Establishment -- led by the likes of Fauci and the CDC and FDA, etc. And given this, much of the "data" and "studies" you are lauding as supporting your pro-vaxx position are worthless. It's lies (manipulated and fraudulent "data") used to push their agenda. That doesn't mean that every doctor is bad. There are good doctors out there. But they are largely controlled by a corrupt system. They cannot speak the truth in many cases, or risk losing their license or job in the system.
The cabal that runs Fauci and the CDC have captured and control the entire Establishment medical system. They've dictated medical boards across the country to revoke the license of any doctor that speaks out against the "official" covid narrative. Now you've even got the Biden Administration instructing Big Tech to censor and silence anyone who speaks out against the official narrative. But I'm supposed to trust the "data" and "studies" from this medical Establishment?
As you might be able to see, this makes finding the information that goes against the official narrative even more difficult -- because so few doctors are brave enough to speak out, and then you have to do some digging to find the information (because of the censorship). And then, of course, all the dupes parrot the propaganda that anyone who dares to believe something that goes against the criminal Establishment is a "nut" who's views are just "paranoid conspiracy theories".
