I think so. As we say, sometimes it's better to remain silent and appear the idiot rather than open our mouths and remove all doubt.

This particular data set to me backs up what Dr Malone said on Rohan's pod. He is pro vax but not pro booster and particularly anti vax in kids. I am all for getting the vax as an adult if you choose to because it works. I would absolutely not opt for a booster and there is no way in hell my 8 and 12 yr old daughters are getting a first jab. You can be pro vax and anti vax at the same time. Just like you can be a Republican and be pro immigration.

Maybe initially, Steve. I get it. But it's also intellectually lazy or disingenuous to assume, complain, argue without doing some reasonable research or info gathering. It's not that hard. That's drawing conclusions instead of making ignorant assumptions imho

Not being lazy at all. Don't be lazy and make assumptions about me and what I think. It's natural for people to have an opinion based on their perspectives, we all do. But, that perspective can also give us blind spots to reality, both inside and out. Nobody should be discounted for their thoughts and opinions, because the truth lies somewhere in the middle most times.

If I've learned anything in the last 4-5 years, it's to listen more. Just because I post something, doesn't mean that's what I die on the hill for. It's just food for thought. I appreciate and value everyone's input.

This is basically where I am as well. My daughter is immunocompromised and the treatment she receives for her chronic illness can lead to a severe outcome if she becomes infected by any disease, including Covid-19. If people are immunocompromised or have other health conditions that put them at risk, the booster should be considered. It should definitely not be mandated.

maybe so but he has a point. Hospital systems basically make money on out patient surgeries and thats about it. If you're in the hospital more than three days, you're pretty much costing the hospital money.

No one in the hospital administrator community was rejoicing over Covid like "finally! We're getting paid!" In fact, it was the exact opposite.

Not arguing the point at all, just pointing out how some could come to certain conclusions, valid or not. By the argument that one should listen when they don't know everything, the other sports forums would be a lot quieter by his own advice. Doesn't stop people from putting their 2 cents in there.

Isn't that the point of these forums? Good bad or indifferent?

Cares Act money is really really good money fellas. Do you know what an $80 million dollar check looks like? You might see a few of em if you were in hospital administration. Enacted in 2020 for strictly COVID coding...what an incentive!

I guess if you want to draw the other conclusion, then there's real money for you to make out there opening the Covid only clinics that no one is building rather than outpatient surgery centers.

In this forum,I hope that everyone is bringing an informed, educated opinion. I dont expect that in a sports forum, because fans gonna fan.

I look at the stuff Ware and GP post but it just doesn't provide any substance, it's honestly a lot of theories that are masked as facts.

If I ran a health system I would rather have the 100s of millions or billions with a "b" in out patient surgery money that was stopped by your millions in Covid cares act funds.

I can tell you with fact that your $80M check was no windfall for any health systemic NC. I don't know of any in NC that came close to breaking even in 2020 without serious cuts to on going maintenance and new or renovation construction. That $80M wouldnt put a dent in the increased costs in travel nurse salaries, PPE equipment, retrofit of existing rooms into negative pressure rooms, etc.
Werewolf

^ I did not say it was a windfall. I said that there is incentive to code a 'comorbidity w/COVID" death as a COVID death. ..........or even a motorcycle accident "w COVID.

There really isn't if you understand how hospital operations, insurance, and billing works. I'm not saying stuff doesn't get miscoded, it does all the time because that **** is complicated. But billing code error doesn't equal massive fraud scheme to get pennies when you're looking for dollar bills in outpatient billings.

You would have to instruct all of your staff to fraudulently miscode a death in order to receive federal money for Covid. Why haven't we seen any whistle blowers?

Right. $80M for a 10 trillion dollar industry with 4 trillion in spending. Almost 20% of the gdp. It's much appreciated for sure, but it's pennies to the dollar.

It was estimated that hospitals lost $54-100B in revenue in 2021 after the CARES act was taken into account.

Thanks for your input, hokie. It's just better than coming from me.

No worries! My original post was to point out that Werewolf could look at the numbers that Davie posts as aid as opposed to harm, just by taking a different point of view.

We all have different viewpoints which causes all kinds of different conclusions. I have a ton more football and sports experience than most on this board. Doesn't make everyone else an idiot.

Werewolf

Yep, my concern is that the data is not representative for a multitude of reasons. I think Davie was measured and fair when he opined that he chose not to take the booster - at this time - due to the mild symptoms being observed. Davie correctly observes the European concerns with the issues of repeated JABs but otherwise voiced little concern for ADE and V-AIDS. Again, I am not personally a medical professional but have spent many hours listening to the most respected research scientists in the world that, at their peril both professionally and with their livelihoods at stake, voice grave concern and firmly oppose the continuation of this worldwide vaccination effort. It takes courage and conviction to do so........yet,.it is easy to blindly follow when one is weak and lacking in conviction.

For those of you wish to hear the information being heavily censored by our GOVT, social media giants Facebook & Twitter, Google, Youtube, Corporate Media (yes, includes FOX & NEWSMAX) search RUMBLE, BIT>CHUTE, ODYSSEY, CLOUTHUB and Telegram for the likes of Dr Robert Malone, Dr Peter McCullough, Dr Judy Mikovits, Dr.Geert Vanden Bossche and Dr. Michael Yeadon just to name a few. America's Frontline Doctors.

Do your own research and decide for yourself. It's your life and it's your health! These Big Pharma controlled hospitals and medical schools don't necessarily have our best interests and heart. Our Federal Govt doesn't either.

Obviously our hot-shot medical staff here has gotten their feelings hurt. Of course they wish to lash out at me ......someone that questions some of their postings. I'll offer the following as a solution..........

Dr Davie and Dr Mormod,...and Mormod u take the lead........set up a telephone conference call with Dr Peter McCullough and Dr Judy Mikovits.............don't waste your time on little ole me..............and you call them and you straighten out those two morons. You tell em' they don't know what they're talking about......that you wouldn't waste one minute of your valuable time listening to their garbage.......and that you heard straight from your lead at the hospital otherwise. I'm guessing you're both hospitalists..........and I won't say anything further on that issue....

I can provide an example of our hospital losing money with COVID patients.

During the summer wave of 2020, our system had put all non-emergent surgeries on hold. To offset that, they had outpatient providers take full weeks off at 50% pay. They had some nursing staff out for up to 8 weeks without pay. COVID patients are ridiculously expensive and outpatient clinics make zero profits for hospital systems. The money comes from surgeries, urgent care visits, and referrals to specialists for surgeries.

Luckily now, numbers are up, but not exceeding capacity. Most surgeries are continuing at the moment. The big worry for our system is staff. Omicron spreads like wildfire. Our system has even mentioned letting providers or nurses work while COVID + (in full PPE, N95) if needed. That has not had to happen so far, thankfully.

ETA: Medicare/medicaid reimbursement is trash to begin with. If there is a large percentage of those patients in your area, then you cannot expect to make big profits for any patients, COVID or otherwise.

Even if, hypothetically, hospitals are losing money with "covid" patients...there is STILL the financial incentive to label or designate a patient as a "covid" patient...because you get the extra money from the Feds for each patient you label as a "covid" patient...whether they actually have "covid" or not.

That's where the bogus PCR and other "testing" comes in handy...with probably 75% false positives...to falsely label tons of patients as "covid" patients when they don't actually have the black death Rona.

1. I'm not a big fan of werewolf, and I'm sure that he's not a big fan of me either… if you *think* that he's BBW, then I don't know what to even begin to say to that… he couldn't carry BBW's jock as far as I am concerned.
2. He probably has some good points in there somewhere, but he completely ****s it up with his delivery.
3. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't care who wants to post whatever, but for god's sake when your only intent is to ruin the best thread on the WC, then you need to post your tripe somewhere else.
4. Davie and Wayland have been consistent from the start. I don't speak for them (and they don't need me to) but I don't think that either has ever defended the numbers that they have had availability to use. They are only using what is available, and I believe that each of them have mentioned several times over the last two years that they feel that the numbers are cooked.
5. Mormad doesn't need anyone here to stand up for him. His qualifications are impeccable. Surprised that he has been as "measured" in his responses as he has been, and I give him even more respect for doing so. I wouldn't be able to restrain myself to the level that he has.
6. All the above being said, the coding definitely affects the numbers… but no one needed werewolf to tell us that, it's been said here for at least the last year and a half.
7. I'm sure there are other necessary comments that need to be made here, but this is round 1.

1. Totally agree that Werewolf is NOT BBW. Their posting styles and verbiage they use is totally different.
2. "Delivery" is completely overrated. The commie Establishment Lamestream media has great "delivery", with slick graphics and teleprompter-reading presstitutes in slick suits to push the propaganda. But it's all lies. The truth is hard, and hurts.
3. You can not censor people for posting info you disagree with, even if in your favorite thread. Werewolf is not trying to "ruin" anything. He's simply posting info you happen to disagree with. "Ruin", by your definition, just means you disagree with his view. If you don't want to read his posts, you can use the "ignore" feature. But you cannot call for him to be banned and censored from the thread because you disagree with his views.

No provider or administration has incentive to make a few extra pennies to make up for their billions in deficits. They are much, much more worried about keeping their surgical programs open and running without COVID spread.

That number is not even close to accurate on the false positivity rate. Most tests are rated at about 80-85% sensitivity (measuring whether a positive is a true positive) and 98-99% specificity (measuring whether a negative is a true negative).
