Where have you lived that you have had Universal Health Care and know it is more accessible? People pay for private insurance in Universal Health Care countries so they can get accessibility!!!Civilized said:PackFansXL said:
I suspect universal health care would make things worse rather than better. Big Government run programs are always slow to react and are often woefully ineffective relative to private industry.
Did it make things worse for Sweden?
Universal Health care may be less nimble but it's also more accessible.
Challenging or impossible to parse.

I hear you brother.
Regarding the inexcusable nature of where public health administrators landed, it's not like the US was a particular outlier in first-world countries though, is it? The US's lockdowns seemed less severe than much of Europe, for instance.

Our poverty rate is 2x theirs.
Long answer to saying NO I have not lived in a country UHC country. They are not more accessible as you stated.Civilized said:Cthepack said:Where have you lived that you have had Universal Health Care and know it is more accessible? I'm not advocating for UHC or extolling its virtues. Sweden's income tax rate is approaching 60%. That wouldn't fly here.
But this whole discussion is centering around Sweden's approach to COVID.
Their health care system's ability to care for those that would get sick was undoubtedly a consideration.
Sweden is tops in the world in physicians per capita. They have twice as many per capita as the US does.
The US has three times as many uninsured people (30 million) as Sweden has people.
Our obesity rate is 2x theirs.
Our poverty rate is 2x theirs.
These things matter when it comes to access to underlying health, and access to health care.
Underlying health, and access to health care, matter when assessing cost/benefit of approaches to a deadly global pandemic.
We can talk about Sweden, but if we're going to let's make sure to talk about the important ways they are different from the US, in ways that may have been consequential when making public health policy.
They will go to the mat denying (lying about) any adverse affect from Newsome's booster.packgrad said:

You don't have to suspect, Britain shows us in all its crowning glory what a bureaucratized, unfeeling, capricious and sometimes malicious universal public health system is like. Remember the dying baby that the bureaucrats wouldn't allow its parents to bring to the United States for a shot at treatment that the Brits either couldn't or wouldn't give?PackFansXL said:

Lawsuit filed on behalf of Navy SEALs facing intimidation for seeking religious COVID-19 vaccine exemptionshttps://t.co/GZqWWfKjnR

Aren't SEALs required to kill enemy combatants as directed by their mission? Not sure how the dichotomy of having a job that requires you to kill but you are claiming a religious exemption against killing.
I'm sure the courts will work it out. Does anyone know if any of the other vaccines required by the Navy also originated via whatever process uses the embryonic cells? If so it may be hard for them to claim religious exemption against this one but not the battery of vaccines / shots they may have received once joining the Navy.
ETA: I don't know what the answer is, I just think it will be hard for them to claim a deeply held religious belief against killing when that's a requirement of their job. And they didn't object to it previously.
So you don't think soldiers can have religious convictions? I'm trying to understand how you can have such a simplistic, radical leftist take. I don't see how it is hard at all to differentiate between "killing" in war and battle versus the "killing" of an unborn child. A simple google search could provide you some insight if that is what you desire. I, however, think Covid is your religion, so you prefer the simplistic, radical leftist take to justify your position.statefan91 said:
For purposes of this strongly held religious belief, what is the difference between abortion and killing? They are saying they do not want to get the vaccine because it goes against their religious beliefs, which killing does as well but that's a part of their job requirement. I'm trying to understand the carve out of one being OK in their religious belief and the other not. You will likely find that the courts / arbitrator of the decision has a hard time distinguishing as well.
I guess we'll see once the dust settles.

Doctors can't tell the truth about covid or the vaxx (among many other things), or they are now being threatened with losing their license/job. And even many of the ones who are sounding the alarm are being censored on YouTube and other social media, so it's difficult to hear from them.Civilized said:Werewolf said:

Dude have you talked to your doctor about this?
That's not even close to being true. My Doctor talked to me about the effects of covid and everything to know about the vaccine. I'm having blood work done tomorrow along with my flu shot. In your professional opinion should I just cancel since she's loosing her license? Should I consult Joe Robon or what ever the hell his name is 1st?GuerrillaPack said:Doctors can't tell the truth about covid or the vaxx (among many other things), or they are now being threatened with losing their license/job. Similarly, doctors can't recommend "alternative" treatments for cancer, or they risk losing their license. They can only recommend the Big Medical Mafia "official" "treatments" of shooting you up with poison (chemotherapy) or toxic radiation.

Sure, there are a few brave doctors who will risk telling the truth. And it varies from state to state, depending on how draconian the medical board is in that state, as to what they can and cannot say.Glasswolf said:That's not even close to being true. "Physicians who generate and spread COVID-19 vaccine misinformation or disinformation are risking disciplinary action by state medical boards, including the suspension or revocation of their medical license."
