I will be interested to see what happens going forward with testing.

If you're vaccinated, what amounts to symptoms that would lead you to go get tested? I'm not going to go get tested if I have what feels like a head cold or sniffles. I feel like I would only go get tested if I had something more prominent like loss of taste or smell.

Laura Ingraham on a "report" from the Rockefeller Foundation in 2010 that "war-gamed" how the elites would use a pandemic to impose an authoritarian society. You can also see this in the "Event 201" exercise run in October 2019 by the Bill Gates Foundation and the World Economic Forum to war-game how governments and big corporations should respond to a worldwide pandemic, "coincidentally" just a few months before this all happened.

For those who aren't aware, the Rockefeller family are an immensely wealthy and powerful dynasty that are notorious for being at the top of the hierarchy of a cabal of elites orchestrating the "New World Order" agenda for a tyrannical (communist) worldwide takeover and one-world government.

The elites planned and engineered all of this:

The next psyop is this "delta variant" they are now hyping in the communist Establishment propaganda faux "news". They are saying the delta boogeyman is "taking over" in the UK and could lead to a "third wave" and another lockdown in Britain.

They are trying to make these lockdowns a permanent way of life - similar to how the contrived "war on terror" led to the permanent Establishment of the surveillance state and governments worldwide spying on everything people do.

I know this one may sound joke a conspiracy; however, the same German lawyer that brought down VW's emissions scandal is on this as well. I saw Reiner Fuellmich in an interview and thought: this sounds like a big conspiracy; however, he brought down some big companies for nefarious dealings.

I don't think any variants will get Americans, especially Conservatives, to even consider going into lockdown again. It would have to be a newer, much worse virus I believe.

Wait until 2022 and the lefties need to make sure they can have "mail in" ballots. There will be a new, more contagious and deadlier variant that will require "mail in" ballots.

It was a shame from the get go bottom line that the lock downs, isolation etc... for the general population happened. It was 100% political.

The at-risk, immune system compromised should have took precautions like they have every year with the flu. But the lefties had to get rid of Donald J. Trump and they succeeded.

They succeeded in destroying the best economy in decades, lowest unemployment since the 40's, increased inflation, increased the National Debt, put more people on unemployment than ever and further divided this country.

Good job lefties...good job.

I'm pretty sure the liberal media would only throw softball questions at him but he can't afford any bad press. Typical lefty politician. When the lies are exposed and the curtain is pulled back just hide. The MSM is in thier pocket so they will provide coverage.

I think I can give you some talking points he and Mandy may cover:

1. Need to get more people vaccinated, so considering giving people money or a lottery like other states. I am actually fine with this, as long as my name is included in the lottery. I should not be excluded because I chose to get the vaccine earlier.

2. Worried about variants - particularly the "Delta" variant.

3. People who are not vaccinated still must wear a mask indoors and kids who are unvaccinated should continue to wear a mask. Mandy may add a personal anecdote about her kids here.

4. As far as cases and deaths are concerned, I am not sure what he could point out in this update. Cases continue to remain low and are still declining. Deaths are also way down and in particular, deaths from Congregate facilities are very low. Yesterday, there were zero Congregate deaths reported.

5. Hospitalizations seem to be flat to slightly down right now. Difficult to say accurately, since the percentage of hospitals reporting is also down. If you look at the demographics of hospitalizations, the lack of age stratification is evident. I would love to know the percentage of people hospitalized that are unvaccinated (I assume the majority now), but they are not providing us this info.

Quite frankly, the state of emergency should be lifted, but I will be surprised it they do so today.

With the ED % of visits with COVID hovering around 0.4%-0.6%, there aren't really that many coming through the ED with COVID.

Noticed on the CDC website that the running 7 day average increased yesterday for the first time since April 18th. Figured that would happen 7-10 days after memorial day. Hoping it is just a little blip on the radar and things go back to a decline.

One other question because I haven't paid much attention to it but, exactly what is this new delta variant I keep hearing about? Asking seriously and not asking for the couple of posters who will repsond with fake, false, socialist, lefties, made up, blah, blah, blah. Mainly asking Davie and PackPA.

Delta variant is the India variant. It is the latest COVID related item that is being used in Government and Media Fear Propaganda in order to drive agendas. Remember when they warned us of UK (Alpha variant)... and what would happen if we re-opened?

Just another variant of the virus. The difference is it has been shown to spread quickly through younger individuals. However, these are almost always unvaccinated younger individuals. Very key word in unvaccinated.

Pretty much .

Easier transmissibility, but data has not shown increased hospitalizations or deaths up to this point and likely won't with a decent amount of the U.S. population being vaccinated. It could be more transmissible only because younger individuals tend to be the ones who are not vaccinated at this point and that is the only place the virus can spread. I did see where Pfizer has been tested directly against it and was shown to still be 88% effective.

Not a big deal at this point as far as I am concerned.

You know how the lefties and their MSM partners roll. They have to have something to distract them from what is really going on with this administration.

2 - Duck
3 - Dip
4 - Dive
5 - Dodge

They are on display as we speak. None of the lefties on here have yet to refute anything that has come out with their God Fauci or now with Hydroxychloroquine. They have mastered the 5 D's.

Wait until next summer.....before the midterms.... there will be a "deadlier variant" that requires "immediate lock downs" prior to the November elections.

The CDC data is considered a reporting blip, due to delays in data reporting following the holiday period. Unfortunately, some of the "experts" on Twitter used this data to try and raise alarm bells. After a year of this virus, you would think they would know better and understand the data. The graphs were based on "date of report" data for cases and deaths instead of the more meaningful and accurate "date of specimen" and "date of death" report.

As to the Delta variant, here is the information I have been following:

1. As some of you know, the method to report different variants has been updated to use Greek letters instead of the more archaic system used in the past. It is thought it would be easier for the general public to understand. Other previously known variants were renamed to follow this convention as well. Delta can also be classified by as B.1.617.2 and you will see it referred to in this way by some articles.

2. For variants, there are three types of classification that are import to understand:
  • Variant of Interest (VOI) - Variant has specific genetic markers that are "predicted" to affect transmission or immunity escape, evidence that it causes an increase in the proportion of cases, and limited expansion or prevalence in the US.
  • Variant of Concern (VOC) - Evidence of increased transmissibility, more severe disease, and significant reduction in neutralization by antibodies from previous infection or vaccination, and reduced effectiveness of treatments and vaccines.
  • Variant of of High Consequence (VOHC) - A variant with clear evidence that prevention measures have significantly reduced effectiveness relative to other circulating variants. Currently, there are no SARS-CoV-2 variants that rise to this level in circulation in the US.

3. The Delta variant is currently classified as a VOI. It appeared in India in December of 2020 and it is believed to be one of several reasons for the severity of the outbreak in India. It has several mutations on the spike protein that enables it to spread more effectively.

4. As of the most recent data I have found, it is thought to make up 6% of all of the current cases reported in the US. Due to the genetic markers of the virus, it is expected to spread more easily than other variant forms. In the UK, Delta is now the dominant strain. Some of the reason it may have spread more rapidly in the UK is due to the UK's approach of spreading out vaccination first and second doses to 12 weeks from the standard 3 to 4 weeks. The UK has reported that transmissibility may be 40% higher for Delta over other viruses.

5. Delta may be associated with higher disease severity, but this is also in question. I had seen earlier reports that hospitalizations were 2.5 times higher for people infected with the Delta variant, over those infected by other variants. Also, it seems the vaccines may do less to protect you from becoming sick if you become infected.

6. Overall, the vaccines are considered effective, but not as effective as they are against other variants. There are still studies being conducted, but some studies have shown a two-fold reduction in neutralizing titers in people who are fully vaccinated. Remember my comment above about the UK and their decision to spread out the dosing schedule. Some believe this may have made Delta appear to be worse than it really is, since the population may have had lower levels of antibodies compared to countries that stayed on the prescribed dosing schedule. Bottom line, being fully vaccinated should help protect you from the Delta variant, but the protection may be less the protection against other variants.

Looks like the 7 day average reported cases bump is heading back down again (clear of holiday disruption).

Since I delay reporting Date of Specimen collection 5 days, that holiday bump will be reflected when I update June 7th tomorrow. Overall down trend continues.

Hospitalizations down again to 548, with an ICU COVID low of 163.

First time NC reported a sub 2% positive test percentage with 1.8% today (still hate the metric).

There is no emergency.

NC released their 'joke' color coding again.

I mean Orange County is at 7 cases per 100,000 (last 14 days). Had 8 hospital admissions in the county last week (likely others coming into OC from nearby counties because of UNC). And there have been zero deaths in Orange County since March. Like come on, your metrics are BS.

The percentage of Covid patients in ICU is about 3% higher than the average for the full period this data has been reported and it has averaged 30% for the past two weeks. Before this period, the previous seven-day average had been running at the overall average of 27%. So, while ICU totals are down, the total population of Covid patients has declined by a larger extent. If we were to continue to see the percentage of ICU patients increase, it would likely point to a higher number of severe cases being hospitalized than we have seen over the past year.

Looking at the hospitalizations by age group, it is definitely evident that the older populations are not the ones driving the largest percentage of those hospitalized. The age stratification is basically gone. The graphs below show the total by age group for all ages above 30 years old and a zoomed in view of the last six months (7-day moving average trendline). The zoomed in view gives a much clear view of the current splits among the different age groups.

Interested to see how this lines up with admits.

You can tell you struck a nerve when the facts do not line up with what the lefties want them to.

I have said if before and I'll say it again. This was ALL political for the onset. People at high risk should have taken precautions and even isolated themselves if necessary.

But, to reiterate a point I have made before, people with compromised immune systems should be taking those precautions anyway regardless of Covid. There are tons of other viruses, infections etc.. that they are in the high probability of contracting.

Using Covid as a crutch is sad and very political. And even sadder when used to try and prove a political point. And that's a FACT.
