I don't live in Raleigh fwiw, but were there not thunderstorms in the forecast all night? Like this wasn't cancelling A&T over a little puddle in left field while the weather was 75 and sunny.

Late start, lightning delay, start, stop, start, stop - playing in nasty weather until midnight is gross for all parties.

Yea, I don't understand the opinion this was done for convenience.

I don't give a rat's behind about whether the win would have helped us or not! You have a sold out midweek game against a rival that fans have circled on the schedule as a 'must see' and you cancel it because it was convenient?!?!? Give me a break! The fans deserved this game and not playing it is an embarrassment to both coaches!
Definitely understand why you feel that way. I'm sure the fans would also rather see us a host a regional than not host a regional because we lost a non con game there was really no upside to winning besides bragging rights (which we already do have since we beat them in the first game).

You play the games on your schedule. You don't go around sucking games to help your RPI. Maybe this was a true weather based decision but just refuting the point above.

Then why schedule the game in the first place?

ECU is historically bad this year. They are typically a top 25 team. Games against them typically help your resume.

But when the weather is bad and there's no benefit to playing it's a pretty rational decision to cancel. If it was sunny and 75 then this game would have been played 100%.

No not really. Once the storms came through around 5:30 there wasn't anything else on the radar back to the west until around Charlotte. That never made it here. The game could've and should've been played. If it wasn't a midweek game it would've been played. Cancelling games for resume/convenience is a slippery slope and becoming too common in college baseball imo.

I thought about making this same post but didn't. It is true that after 530/545, the weather was not an issue in Raleigh on Tuesday evening.
