After a sweep out west of California, No. 25 NC State Baseball will return to the Doak to begin a five-game homestand on Tuesday, April 22, at 6 p.m. when the Wolfpack takes on East Carolina for the second time this season. The game will be broadcast on ACCNX and heard on WKNC 88.1 FM and the Varsity Network app.

PROJECTED STARTING PITCHERS:
Tuesday: LHP Cooper Consiglio (NCSU) vs. RHP Jackson DiLorenzo (ECU)

This will be Consiglio's sixth start of the season. His previous start came against ECU, where he went two innings, allowing just one run on one hit.

When I turned on the game I saw a notice saying Game Cancelled.

I was looking forward to it but in the grand scheme of things I think this is good for us. Wasn't really any upside for us in this game and now we have a full bullpen available starting Thursday.

I get that, but you have fans that spent money and made the effort to get out there. This approach of cancelling games when it's convenient for resume or scheduling purposes is really weak imo.

Because they aren't very good. We have WAY more to lose. They are virtually in a "win the conference tourney" situation anyway, but I suspect they didn't like the odds of getting swept by State this year.

Maybe we should just cancel all non con games then.

It's not an umpire's decision until the game starts to cancel. It's the schools and the coaches decision before then.

We have in the past as have many other schools in games like these. The hope is your non con games are all competitive enough to not hurt you but some still do. Sucks that's the way the system is set up when not playing a game is better than playing a game and losing.

Definitely understand why you feel that way. I'm sure the fans would also rather see us a host a regional than not host a regional because we lost a non con game there was really no upside to winning besides bragging rights (which we already do have since we beat them in the first game).
