He'd be starting at most places.

Both guys pounded the zone all day.
I'd be really scared facing us in a tournament setting with the depth of arms we have.
I agree that you bunt there in the 8th inning. Early in the game I don't like wasting outs for a possible payoff. Avent used to do that all the time no matter what and it drove me crazy. Your 3 and 4 hitters are there for a reason, let them swing the bat. I don't follow analytics, but I think even they say it's better to let your guys hit then bunt with the first 2 on.Jtilley said:ChemE94 said:

You bunt there 100% of the time with man on 1st and 2nd and no outs.

Having said that, Sosa did a good job of getting the runners moved up. In the 7th after Luke led off, I thought he was going to bunt Lanphere and I was saying to myself you only have 9 outs left, don't give one away and Drew got a single and Luke went to 3rd. I have no problem with Heavner bunting for the tie run in that situation.

He has changed a lot in the last 5 or so years. I applaud him for acting more like Earl Weaver and not giving outs away.Glasswolf said:Some days the evil genius gets it right lolDrummerboyWolf said:I agree that you bunt there in the 8th inning. Yes definitely. Sorry when you said 100% if the time I was thinking the whole game.Jtilley said:DrummerboyWolf said:I agree that you bunt there in the 8th inning. I should have said in that situation, I agree you don't do it that early in the game with your cleanup guy up.
