It's weird to me that they've done so much to speed up the game, but pitching changes still take so long. If you've been warning up for ten minutes in the pen, come in and take a few throws to get used to the mound and get to it. Won't happen for player safety reasons, just something that bugs me.

Highfill in last 9.2 innings (2 games) has allowed only 9 base runners and struck out 12. ERA less than 2 and WHIP under 1.

Fritton has been shaky, but we gotta stop with the Highfill slander around here. He's been above average at worst. The Hawaii game seems like an outlier for everyone.


Highfill has definitely looked better than Fritton but it took him 100 pitches to get to the 5th the other night, needs more consistency


I don't think that matters at all. Especially with our bullpen. And around college baseball that's pretty normal length. What isn't normal is the ERA and WHIP being what they are with his strikeout numbers.

Definitely not mad at the results this weekend. Just looking down the road to the more competitive ACC series'. Whittakers looked good so far but I've got ptsd from watching him get shelled in past years lol.

I think if State had any semblance of a defense last year it would be looked at much differently.

As someone who is around high school and high level travel baseball a lot, we do a terrible job of scouting and recruiting pitchers. The amount of arms we have that STRUGGLE with command is just not acceptable at the level our program is able to recruit at and the amount of talent available in NC. It's as if we don't watch these guys and are recruiting based solely on metrics. Then, we get them to campus, we don't see improvement in command for the most part.

Pitching all day Friday was pretty damn good.

This isn't awesome by any means, but we are still going to sweep these guys and days like this are going to happen.
