It's all mental right now with Rio, IMO. He's been really good his last two outings against uncw and davidson and was good against uncg but against ECU and Louisville he just didn't throw strikes.

You might be right and it could be mental and trying to do too much. I did not watch the Davidson game, so did not see how he did. I am going off the ECU, Louisville, and the game tonight. All three times I have watched, he has not been good.

I really think it's all mental with him right now. Look at his numbers against the easier comp and he's throwing strikes and looking like that guy he was at Oregon.

Grice hasn't hit a change up all year. both strikes in that a bet were off the change up. What does 17 throw ? a fast ball. The boy cannot hit an off speed pitch. Great scouting.

I'd love to see Highfill's stats when he starts an inning vs. when he comes in during an inning. The coaching staff has been committing malpractice with him all year. Give him a freaking clean inning to work with.

I'm not sure why I'm even debating this with you. Sam isn't good anymore, and it's blatently obvious. Unfortunately he's all we have, I guess. Love the kid. He's a pack legend. He's not serviceable option on a high leverage game anymore. I'm not sure what you see that makes you comfortable with trotting him out there day after day

I just don't understand how this would improve things. The kid struggles with 1 clean inning and we want to start him? Also, he's coming out of the pen due to a back injury that he and the staff agreed would be remedied by using him out of the pen, yes?
