To be fair, losing in the regional doesn't mean GT, or anyone else, isn't one of the best teams in the country. The regionals are almost always chaotic. I mean, the overall #1 seed has only won the CWS like twice this century.

Its baseball, and I agree.

That's why I don't take for granted how often we've been in the tournament under EA. As much as any sport, if you're in, you've got a shot.

Pitching > hitting when it comes to college baseball. That is gutting for gtech

Georgia Tech was either losing this game or winning the whole thing.

This was their 14 straight NCAA regional without advancing to the Super Regional. Last Super Regional was 2006. Their confidence took a hit yesterday when they blew the game against Oklahoma. It was always going to be a mental battle today.

Still no doubt in my mind they were the best team in the nation. Run ruled SEC champion Georgia. Run ruled #4 national seed Auburn.

If anyone ever wanted to complain about what Avent accomplished, look no further then Georgia Tech. They haven't won a regional in 20 years. Meanwhile we've made it to Omaha 3 times and a couple other Super appearances.

That's a wild damn stat, I never would have guessed they haven't been to a super in that long.
