NC State opens ACC play today at 4:00 pm at Boston College.  Here are some pregame notes on the Wolfpack.

Pack Notes

- The Pack returns to action Saturday afternoon, playing its ACC opener at Boston College. The game is NC State’s fourth-straight game away from home as the Pack haven’t played in Raleigh since Nov. 17. NC State played two games last week in Las Vegas and Tuesday at Ole Miss.

- NC State dropped its second straight game, falling to Ole Miss, 72-52, on Tuesday night in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge.

- Junior forward led the Pack with his first career double-double, posting career-highs in points (13) and rebounds (11) while tying his career-high in blocks (2) against the Rebels.

- Four days after posting his career-high with 28 points against BYU, Casey Morsell also reached double figures with 12 points at Ole Miss.

- They were the only two players to reach double figures as NC State shot a season-low 31.8 percent at Ole Miss.

- In the first five games of the season, sophomore guard LJ Thomas registered three DNPs and just 11 minutes played in the other two games, but on Tuesday at Ole Miss he played a career-high 22 minutes and finished with seven points, four rebounds and a career-high four assists.

- Through six games, NC State has had a diverse scoring attack. Six different players have led NC State in scoring this season (DJ Burns, DJ Horne, Ben Middlebrooks, Casey Morsell, Dennis Parker, Jr., and Jayden Taylor). Eight different players have scored in double figures.

- Freshman Dennis Parker, Jr. - the only freshman on NC State’s roster - was named ACC Rookie of the Week on Monday. He finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds in the win over Vanderbilt on Thanksgiving night. He was 7-of-10 from the field and added two blocks and two assists.

Saturday Storylines

- Saturday marks the conference opener for the Pack. NC State last won its ACC opener in the 2020-21 season when the Pack defeated 17th-ranked North Carolina, 79-76, on Dec. 22, 2020 in PNC Arena. The last time NC State won its ACC opener when it was a road game was the 2018-19 season when the Pack won at Miami, 87-82, on Jan. 3, 2019.

- Since Kevin Keatts became head coach of the Pack prior to the 2017-18 season, NC State has 24 ACC road wins. The 24 ACC road wins tie for the fourth-most by an ACC team during that span. Only Virginia (41), Duke (34) and North Carolina (29) have more conference road wins than the Pack since the start of the 2017-18 season.

- Win the turnover battle: NC State only forced Ole Miss into seven turnovers on Tuesday while turning the ball over 13 times themselves. NC State entered the Ole Miss game with a +7.8 turnover margin which was fifth best in NCAA D1. In the Keatts’ era, NC State is 90-36 (71.4%) when it has less turnovers than its opponent, but is just 19-33 (36.5%) when it has more turnovers than its opponent.

NC State Series With Boston College

- Saturday is the 30th meeting all-time between NC State and Boston College.

- The Pack leads the all-time series with the Eagles, 16-13. Kevin Keatts is 6-3 against BC as head coach of the Pack, including a 3-1 mark in games played at Conte Forum.

- Last Meeting (Feb. 11, 2023): NC State defeated Boston College, 92-62, last season in its last trip to Conte Forum. The Pack shot 55 percent and tied a season-high with 15 three-pointers in the win. The 30-point margin of victory is the third-largest in an ACC road game in program history. DJ Burns had a double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Casey Morsell added 16 points, connecting on 5-of-8 three-pointers.
